Am I allowed to say "Dan DiDio"?
Who are the biggest douches in the Marvel/DC Universe
Cyclops was a douche before M-Day. M-Day really f*cked him up so it became interesting. But before he was a control freak and a complete douche. Captain America is also a douche in the same way Cyclops was.
Oh and Tony Stark is a douche too. He's a lovable douche in the movies, but in the comics, I want to go inside the panels and punch him in the face
Am I allowed to say "Dan DiDio"?
lol!
But seriously, Namor.
MARVEL:
1. Namor
2. Tony Stark
3. Sally Floyd
4. Willaim Stryker
5. Red Skull
DC:
1. Guy Gardener
2. Pre Flashpoint Doctor Light
3. Batman (sometimes)
4. Guardians of the Universe
5. Hotstreak
Iron Man and Namor aren't douches. They're super cool dudes who get ladies. And All-Star Batman is THE GODDAMN BATMAN!
@wolverine08: ehhh, I think Namor is totally one. I like him but he's still a douche
Tim Drake is a douche these days.
The only time Jason Todd was not a douchewas when he was dead.
Guy Gardner is not a douche, he's funny as hell
Hal Jordan has always been and always will be a douche
Spider-Man has been a douche since 2007
Tony Stark is as douchey as they come.
Reed is worse than Tony
I think there's been a lack of awareness of Guy's character development.
His character has changed for at least 6 years or something like that...
@thatguywithheadphones: that's so true who knows why
Everyone in Marvel beside Peter Parker is a douche IMO.
Only applies to the Ultimate Universe. Plenty of other good people in the mainline universe.
Cyclopes, Reed Richards, Guy Gardiner, Hal Jordan, Booster Gold ( in an adorable way )
I'm missing some though.
Batman is kind of a douche too, the way he always disappears in the middle of someone sentence and his whole " I am the night " thing. I just don't like him XD
Pssst, Batman disappears because once he has the information he needs, he doesn't do small talk. And Batman is darkness and light, HE'S THE GODDAMN BATMAN! Lol.
@wolverine08: yes!
I know this is only one panel, but this is one of the moments that I've always looked to as my hatred towards Bruce.
I'm fine with Tim Drake, I'm fine with Dick Grayson, Damien Wayne is alright and I don't talk about Jason Todd.
Bruce is just a douche XD
@thetruebarryallen: You know that's from a non-canon story written by a crazy person, right?
@the_utopian: Yep! Still dislike Bruce, always have.
I posted that panel because its "THE GODDAMN BATMAN" at his goddamn worst.
Dc
Tim drake
Orion (why is he always so angry when there no reason to be)
John constantine
Hal jordan
Marvel
Namor
Iron man
Reed richard
Cyclop
You do know that panel was part off the All Star Batman and Robin story? The one Frank Miller wrote when he went into a creative decline, and wrote every one of his stories gratuitously gritty, racist, homophobic, and misogynist. That panel is DEFINITELY not how Bruce acts normally. He cares for the Robin like they are his sons. That panel is bad writing, plain and simple.
@wolverine08: I understand that. It's one of the reasons why I dislike the phrase "The Goddamn Batman".
I find the character overrated and annoying, I've never been a fan of Bruce Wayne and I hardly like the various Robins, it's just my personal preference and I felt like I could say that here.
I'm glad you appreciate Batman, I myself, do not.
@thetruebarryallen: But Bruce isn't really like that in continuity...
Look, you like the character? Cool.
I don't, I'm glad you do, but I shouldn't be hounded just because I don't.
@thetruebarryallen: my guess is you like barry allen flash? Do you?
@wolverine08: No, I know he's different but I've just never been a big fan of him. As a character he's too dark, I've rarely seen him smile and it bothers me. I know he has had a tough life but he's always appeared to be a tad full of himself.
I enjoyed reading Dick Grayson as Batman though, he brought more life to the character.
I was also a fan of Thomas Wayne because he went all the way, he was dark and he showed it, wasn't afraid to kill.
Bruce is just.. eh.
@lifeofvibe: I love Barry, he was a tad out of character in Flashpoint which is why a lot of people hate him but he's my favorite comic character of all time :D
@thetruebarryallen: that's not why people hate him you know?
Here's a few reason why people don't like him including me
His character is bland and pretty boring
He took wally westes spot as the flash
Those are the reasons why people don't like him including me
Hmm, I see how you could see things that way. I've personally found Bruce's journey to help his city, and to channel and use the darkness and pain inside of him to be a force of good to be extremely interesting and motivating story. I think that what you said is somewhat of a misconception about Batman. He is dark, but not really always angry and pissed off. He is pretty chill when he's with Alfred and his Robins. He isn't really dark like someone like Punisher. That dude is scary dark. LOL.
@thetruebarryallen: you know batman dispearing in the middle of a sentence isn't being a douch its just being really really rude
@wolverine08: they don't hate the flash they just hate barry allen so do I I'm still waiting for wally to jump back on to the flash train
Oh and I almost forgot:
Damn near every last human in X-Men, seriously these idiots are the reason I always root for Magneto when I'm reading an X-Men story.
@black_claw: okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...?
@lifeofvibe: I can't really go all out in depth here as this is pretty off topic, but I guess I'll explain why I appreciate Barry.
Barry was a man who dealt with loss at an early age, he was often bullied at school and his mother was killed. The murder was pinned on his father who was then sent to prison, because of this Barry gained a strong desire to become a Police Scientist in order to prove his father guilty.
Barry was never able to solve his case, no matter how hard he tried, his father never made it out of prison. During one of his late nights looking over the case Barry became The Flash, not because he wanted to, it just happened.
He then used his powers for the greater good, he became a hero in Central City, an icon, Wally even made a fan club for the guy :)
Barry didn't have an easy life as a hero either, he had trouble balancing his personal life with his heroic life, it upset his wife, Iris, it was a realistic struggle of a hero. Eventually the character gave his life during Crisis on Infinite Earths in order to save everyone, it's probably one of the most heroic acts I've seen in comic history.
You've gotta think, this was a character who was dead from 1985 - 2008, 23 years he was gone. He didn't really get as much time to develop as a characters, he was a Silver Age character who then got brought back in the late 2000's.
Barry has just always been optimistic about everything, when the cards aren't in his favor he doesn't give up, he tries harder. There is hope, there is always hope, his motto. Barry is the ideal hero in my opinion and I understand most people won't agree with me, but they've all got opinions and I respect that.
Give it some more time and he might become more interesting to you, heck, even Bruce said that Barry was the man he'd hoped to become if his parent's hadn't been killed. Flash doesn't want to be like Batman, Batman wants to be like Flash.
Enough about that though, this topic is for douchebags XD
Speaking of which, Bart Allen is kind of douchey too.
Look, you like the character? Cool.
I don't, I'm glad you do, but I shouldn't be hounded just because I don't.
It's less that you don't like him and more that your example of what makes him bad is not really in character at all. :V
