If by "greatest" you mean favorite then Daredevil's on my list. If you mean most powerful, then Matt won't make the cut. So...idk?

@extremis: IMO, she's a more interesting character. I like Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman, but Hit-Girl is just so cool. I'm not sure I can really explain why I like her so much.

Who is the second Spider-Man? Ben Reilly? And him over Wolverine, Wonder Woman, and Flash? Odd choice.

As far as 'greatness', I'll go:

1. Superman

2. Batman

3. Wonder Woman

4. Spider-Man

5. Captain America

I think Wolverine does not belong on a list of 'greatness', more just 'popularity'. Flash and Hulk would have been my 6 and 7.

The second Spider-man is the same as the first. I just like him that much. To be serious, though, that spot would be taken by Wonder Woman.

I'm never entirely sure if Hulk qualifies as a "hero" due to the carnage he causes! For me its

Batman

superman

Spider man

Wonder Woman

Captain America

These are undeniably heroes in the truest sense, five of the noblest characters in the DC/Marvel universe. Hulk is too much the rage monster, Wolverine a bit of anti-hero at times and the others just don't have the general fame and standing of the above five IMHO.

Looking through this thread shows why DC put so much into their trinity. They really did make the 3 most iconic characters didn't they?

QFT. Though i'd switch superman and batman. I like batman a lot more but Superman defines the word superhero.

1. Superman
2. Batman
3. Spider Man
4. Wonder Woman
5. Captain Marvel
Honorable Mention : Captain America , Hulk , Wolverine & Flash

@bezza: I'd say Hulk is a superhero. He's used for good. He's an anti-hero I suppose but still a superhero.

no. WW didn't have lots of tv series, games and movies unlike Batman and Superman.. There's no DC Trinity. It's only Power Two: Superman and Batman

Here's who I think are:

The greatest as in most iconic:

1 Superman

2 Batman

3 Spider-man

4 Hulk

5 Wonder Woman

Although the last two are interchangeable really.

The greatest in popularity as of right now:

1 Batman

2 Iron Man

3 Spider-man

4 Superman

5 Wolverine or Hulk

The greatest as in my favorites

1 Spider-man

2 Batman

3 Thor

4 Wolverine

5 Hulk

#49 Posted by GraniteSoldier (10944 posts) - - Show Bio

My greatest:

  1. Agent Venom
  2. Spider-Man
  3. Batman
  4. Hulk
  5. Scarlet Spider

In terms of the general (comic reading) populace:

  1. Batman
  2. Superman
  3. Spider-Man
  4. Wolverine
  5. Hulk

Potential replacements/honorable mentions: Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Captain America, The Flash.

This can be looked at so many ways. Individual, comic readers, and general public. Right now in the general public Batman and Iron Man are arguably the two most popular, whereas Iron Man doesn't share Spidey's popularity among comic readers. So the question itself is very vague and open to interpretation.
