Honestly Flash Thompson would make a better movie but I would not want to see Flash become Venom before Brock. Brock should be introduced as Venom first in one of the Spider-man movies as a villain/anti-hero. Then we should have the Agent Venom movie.
Eddie Brock was by far my favorite venom. He was also the first so they should create the movie out of him. There's no need to keep mac though. If they ever decide to get rid of brock they should just skip gargan and go straight to flash.
Flash Thompson. He brings a more interesting dynamic IMO, and they already gave him some character development in the first movie. I wouldn't mind seeing Brock in presumably TASM3 as Venom, but I'd prefer to see Flash take over for the Venom film.
Having an Agent Venom movie without first introducing Eddie Brock might not go too well.
It would be like having a Flash movie introducing Wally West with no Barry Allen. It can be done, but it would be very tricky. I would really love to see Agent Venom.
I've said this in another thread but I'll repeat it: Venom needs to start with Eddie Brock, however Flash Thompson is the only Venom capable of carrying his own film. Brock is too one-dimensional as a hero, but as a villain he was very engaging and is one of Spidey's greatest rivals. As a villain he was great because he was the bad guy who honestly believed he was the hero. Brock is a great villain, but isn't dynamic enough to carry his own film. He needs to be a villain in the Spider-Man movies.
Thompson on the other hand is a great character with great depth, and is a hero through and through. It'd be a great story to tell if they could tie in Thompson's admiration of Spider-Man in the films to his joining the military and losing his legs overseas in one of the actual Spider-Man films, then alluding to Thompson being called for Project Rebirth 2.0 at the end of the film (after credits teaser perhaps?). Then the actual Venom movie could be Thompson joining Project Rebirth and the origin of his career as Agent Venom.
I think Flash would pull off a solo movie better but Eddie has to appear somewhere before otherwise it's not going to work so well. Perhaps if Brocks suit is taken away from him by the government in the next Amazing Spiderman film, Thompson can make a nice transition into the role.

This is the best option. Have eddie in the next spiderman movie and have him get beaten and his symbiote take away and then they make a solo movie for agent venom.
its gonna be flash considering how the ultimate spiderman cartoon will soon coincide with the amazing spiderman comics in spiderverse and they skipped eddie completely and went straight to flash being venom. this seems to be something thats gonna stick in the marvel continuity. and flash has already played out his role of becoming spideys biggest fan so when the jerk in the amazing spiderman movies joins the army hes gonna lose his legs, become venom, and hopefully fight carnage.
