I can think of only 3 possible ones.

Superman, Batman, Spiderman.

Wonder Woman, despite being the most iconic female superhero, doesn't have lots of iconic villain.

Ironman, Hulk, Captain America and Thor, despite being popular all do not have a big cast of iconic villains.

X-men has a good amount of iconic villains but because they operate as a team, its kinda hard to define what is an iconic villain for X-men, since the line is pretty grey.

Wolverine would be a more well defined character to say that he has iconic villain, but he does not have that big a cast.

Green Lantern have a pretty big cast of iconic villains as well, but not sure if there are as many as Superman, Batman and Spiderman.

Flash have the rogues which has pretty popular villains but I'm not sure if they're iconic.

So if you have to choose 1 Superhero who do you think has the most iconic supervillains.

Batman - Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face, Riddler, (maybe) Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and Mr Freeze. Spidey probably has a similar number (I can think Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom, maybe Lizard and Sandman). Most other major heroes only have one iconic villain, if that - Superman might have five but I'm not sure about Brainiac, Zod and Darkseid compared to Lex and maybe Bizarro (you know who he is even if you don't read comics - see the guy and he looks like a Superman character).

Reason why I think Batman is because tons of his tons of villains. On top of that I would like to mention Bane, Clayface, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Hush, Ra's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul, Killer Croc and the Ventriloquist.

So I would say Batman, but secretly deep in my heart I'm actually rooting for Superman. Seeing that he also has, Metallo, Doomsday, Atomic Skull, Toyman. Also, disagree on Bizarro since he has his own roller coaster in six flags :)

Batman, easily.

Superman in second. Everyone has heard the name Brainiac even if they don't know where it comes from. Lex Luthor is pretty well known as well and used in every day speech. Those two are probably the best known villains/most heard of villains in all of comicdom.

Batman easily. You mention the Joker, Two-Face or Riddler to anyone and they'll instantly know who they are.

Heck, we even have Arnie to thank for raising the awareness of Mr. Freeze. xD

Depends on how you define iconic. If you mean iconic as in the most mainstream and easily recognizable then Batman is the most iconic: Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, etc.

If we're talking iconic as in grandeur and awe inspiring, then I think Dr. Strange is the most iconic: Eternity, The Living Tribunal, Dormammu, Shuma-Gorath,etc.

@Jorgevy: To me iconic means recognizable. So if were talking general public, I have to say Batman has the most well-known villians, because of all the popular media adaptions (especially the Dark Knight and the 60's show). So Batman, followed by Spider-Man, a pretty big gap, then Superman. Again, Im talking general public, plus comic fans.

Spider-man then. i just think his villains have had a ton of exposure with all the cartoons and movies. even spider-man's lesser know villains are more recognizable than batman's. but batman is definitely second. i don't think anyone else comes close to these two.

I'd have to go with Spiderman and Batman. Their movies definitely helped with the general public. The main Spidey villains (with the exception of Electro and Rhino) were all touched upon by his movies and Batman had all his in his movies as well, yes I am counting the horrible ones that had Riddler, Two Face, Freeze, and Ivy. Although I think the Adam West Batman helped more then any of the movies establishing who the Dark Knights main villains were.

Batman has about 35-40 "Iconic" villains, Spider-Man only has about 20-25

But that's based on my criteria, so make of it what you will

Ok I'm going to list the iconic villians for each, and by iconic I mean ones that are real popular

Batman: Joker, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Riddler, Ras Ahl Ghul, Two-Face, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Harley Quinn,

Spider-Man: Venom, Doctor Octopus, Kingpin, Green Goblin, Sandman

These are just the primary ones, and as shown Batman has way more iconic villians, By the way I know what it is, but what is the actual definition of rogues gallery (in comic book terms, just to make sure?)

@KainScion: I'm not saying no one knows them but most if not all those villains you just listed, are not iconic, as the OP Stated, unlike the ones in which I stated.
