Let's switch this around for a change, everybody is always saying character X should get a movie and actor Y should play this other character but we all know that faction told in comic format is FAR better than in film so let's switch it around. What movie/TV show should get an ongoing comic and who would you like to write it?

I would love to see:

  • James Bond - Written by Andy Diggle
  • Lord of the Rings (set during the First Age, maybe called Middle Earth: War of the Jewels) - Written by Brian Wood
  • Rene Belloq (Yep that's right, I want to see an ongoing comic starring Indiana Jones smooth grave robbing arch-enemy) - Written by Rick Remender

Forever Knight written by Kevin Smith & Underworld written by Todd McFarlan

Bad Santa: Written by Mark Miller

Killer Joe: Written by Matt Fraction. Based on the title characters earlier years.

Tron - Written by Nick Spencer. No idea on what it'd be about, but having Spencer writing and then seeing Tron and life in the Grid would be awesome.

Cloverfield - Don't know who'd write it (maybe Brian Wood or Jeff Lemire), but it'd focus on life after the attack and bombing of New York, and tie into the viral marketing by seeing what played into the awakening of the monster.

Reservoir Dogs - Written by Jason Aaron. It'd focus on the life of Joe Cabot before the events of the movie, the various heists/crimes he's done and the inner workings of his criminal empire.

I'd also read the s### out of a Bond comic.

Good question.

My choices are-

Indiana Jones.

The Warriors Way -Ninjas in the wild West.Great idea but just fell flat.

The Warriors -Gangs of NYC united against the State.

Babylon5-Ok it wasnt a movie but loved the TV show.more than enough characters plots for this to became a great comic imo.

Dune-Classic sci-fi film.

Transporter: Don't know who should write it but I would prefer it in DC so that Frank could occasionally run into Deathstroke and Deadshot since he is in a similar line of work. He would have a somewhat edgy relationship with Bruce Wayne and by extension Batman (Because of something that happened between him and a younger not-yet-batman Bruce Wayne).

Misson Impossible: Ethan Hunt in the Marvel U. He is the man who can do the impossible. But can he Assassinate possibly one of the strongest minds in the world? How do you kill someone who can read your mind? First arc: Someone wants Emma Frost dead. And they Don't mind blackmailing Ethan to make it happen. But who? And why? Why ask why? Its a book with and X-Men character. Shut up!

Not a film but an Assassin's Creed comic series would be brilliant. There's centuries of Assassin Creed history never seen in-game to choose from.

Pulp Fiction by Fraction would be cool

Every time I think of dialogue in a Tarantino movie I think of Bendis

Leon the Professional written by Greg Rucka

#29 Posted by theoutbreak (17 posts) - - Show Bio

Game of Thrones prequel based on the rebellion (only if written by George R. R. Martin)

Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles

Dollhouse (don't actually remember the show that well, just remember really enjoying it before it was cancelled)

Babylon 5

Underworld (yeah yeah I know. I just really like the series for whatever reason)

Fifth Element

@judasnixon: This would be awesome. Would you switch things up so that Leon survived? Or start with his protege taking the reigns, with Leon seen in flashbacks? Or would this be before the events of the film? Lots of ways to handle this.

It's not a movie (although arguably it could be), but I've always dreamt of a comic based on Metal Gear Solid.

Yea

Hancock and Chronicle

The Covenant. With a good writer this could be awesome.

Hancock.

All I can think of.

Mad Max - Alan Moore

Snake Pliskin - Jimmy Palmiotti

The Streetfighter (Sonny Chiba) - not sure, but someone who can write really sleezy exploitation crime stories with an amoral a-hole antihero lead.

Blade Runner Chronicles - again not sure

The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad: Matt Fraction

Or lets finish up the last film (That was never written) Buffy season 8 style. Written by Mark Miller or Kevin Smith. They are competant and dirty enough to make it work.

I would not mind a book written about Bill's early days. Especially with Pei Mei.

Inception: Cobb and crew take on more jobs plundering into people's dreams.

Hancock: THe continuing adventures of Hancock

Black Mask: 90's movie where Jet Li played a masked vigilante.

Breakout Kings (tv): Spin off of Prison Break that starred convicts who were used to capture dangerous criminals, in order to remove time from their sentences. Never got a proper ending, so it could easily transition into comics.

Bored To Death (tv): HBO comedy about a novelist who moonlights as a private detective. His best friend is a cartoonist and the show has a comic vibe to it already. Could be fun!
