Mario's personality is so ill defined that it's hard to find someone as generic as him. Not saying that makes the Mario games bad, but honestly Mario doesn't have much of a personality.
Probably Captain America. All Mario does is save people and hang out with his friends.Though I like Cap a lot and I hate to say it, he's a pretty one-dimensional character. It's a great dimension to have, but it's true.
