I second this. But you need to say his name and why he died.

Skurge the Executioner
He died standing alone at Gjallerbru defending the bridge by himself so that Thor Balder and the rest of the Asguardians could get away safely
In his death he redeemed himself of past wrongdoing and made himself a hero.

Surprised nobody posted it yet:

@blazinasian112:

I was so happy that his death occurred in X-Force rather than Uncanny X-Men. A good death is best presented with good art.

A f-ing men!

Ted Kord, died trying to save the world from Maxwell Lord, no one believed him and he paid the price.

I honestly don't understand what you mean.

Yeah, he had a good death.

Perhaps not "heroic" in the sense that he didn't die saving the world, but the Question's death is still one of my favorites.

Also, who could forget Rorschach's death?

@JediXMan:

I was agreeing with Blazinasian112 and then suggesting Ted Kord for a heroic death. No one believed him, but he knew he had to do all her could to protect the people he cared about.

Ah. I thought the "A f-ing men!" comment was to me. If it was to Blazinasian12, why'd you quote me?

Ah. Now I get it. I just didn't understand what you meant when you said that. Now it makes sense.

We're both suffering from lack of sleep, so it's kind of both of our faults, I suppose.

It was the whole thing. How he trained Renee, leaving her subtle clues that he knew would lead to his own death. His death on the mountains after everything she tried to do for him... it was just a sad ending, but so beautifully done.

As I said, it's not heroic nor your standard hero death. I just thought it was good and well done.

Mr. Spock in Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Kahn.  He sacrificed himself to save the ship and crew because "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one".

totally agree with the Barry Allen mentions and gotta add Supergirl's death in Crisis was also most epic rescuing her cousin and taking on the anti-monitor all on her own.

#35 Edited by Rabbitearsblog (3997 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

For me, it was Colossus' death in X-Men because he sacrificed his life to save all of mutantkind from the Legacy Virus. Also, Kitty Pryde's supposed death during the Breakworld arc when she had to phase a bullet to save Earth from the bullet.

 Death of Colossus in "X-Men"

 Kitty phasing the bullet in "Astonishing X-Men"

Superboy and Barry Allen.

Bruce Wayne in Final Crisis. Really wasn't a death, but still. Standing up to a god and actually defeating that god when he has no superpowers was heroic. It was also neat how Morrison wrote it, how a gun sort of created Batman and how Bruce used the gun at his end.

Supergirl died after giving the Anto-Monitor enough pause for the other heroes to escape and regroup.

@_Black: Actually Bruce didn't finish Darkseid off, it was Supes that lowered the boom.

I liked the Questions death. Not only was it set up very well but I like how he died of cancer. The Question wasn't the kind of character that would of died saving the world or defending a city from some huge monster/super threat. At the end of the day he was just a human and died from a common human ailment. I thought that this was perfect for the character. (Although I would KILL to have him back)

Only two deaths have made me cry in comics:

- Barry Allen

- Superman
