Poll Which do your prefer? DC/Marvel (419 votes)
I'm not asking which one is better..that question has no answer. I just want to know which one you personally like better. Always been curious.

MARVEL
MARVEL's got Spidey (greatest fictional character), awesome characters, greatest movies (IMHO), a more energetic tone and vibe and cooler stories and well written cartoons.
@eyedcyou: What's your preference?
@captainmarvel4ever: DC. Other than Spidey I don't really like many marvel characters

I applaud you, good sir. Spider-Man is the greatest creation mankind has ever seen.
I love both companies Superman is my favorite hero but I generally prefer Marvel mainly due to X-Men/X-Characters and unlike most comic fans I really like the big events Marvel has lol
@eyedcyou: Thanks
Marvel.
Depends what you mean. DC is clearly putting out better, more mature books and seem to better have the longer term fan in mind, whereas marvelnow! constantly restarts their books, has gimmick deaths, a near monthly event and gimmick replacements for established heroes.
DC also has near monthly gimmicky events. Spring-Summer 2013 - Trinity War. Followed by Villain Month. Followed by Forever Evil. Followed by Future's End. Followed immediately by Spring 2015 - Blood Moon. Which will be followed by "Forever Crisis" (or whatever they are going to call this crisis--Countdown to the Genesis of the Infinity Day of Judgment on the Final Night Identity Armageddon to the Zero Hour on the Blackest Night when the Underworld Unleashed with the Joker's Last Laugh Crisis.). This doesn't include Red Daughter, Year Zero, Death of the Family, Robin's Requiem, Doomed...etc. Events have become the natural state of DC (and Marvel).
As to the first point, Marvel Now! has also treated long term fans far more kindly than the n52(in my experience). At least I can still recognize my heroes.

Trinity war + Forever Evil could very well be argued that they count as one event, seeing how both stories are tied immedietly to the other. Villain's Month was not an event. Future's End is whatever. It wasn't supposed to be released so close to Forever Evil, but FE was delayed so much it came to be.
Red Dauther, Doomed, Robin, DoTF and Year zero are not events, they are tie in story arcs. Anyway, before The Forever Evil came out, DC's last event was Flashpoint, which was two years prior.
I prefer DC. Marvel has too many characters that I don't like. Honestly, I think The Hulk is the most boring super hero there is.
DC, better and more significant comics overall (eg. Watchmen, The Killing Joke, All Star Superman, Kingdom Come, etc.).
im more of a dc guy
i like marvel comics but i feel like im a fan of their characters more than their stories sometimes
@hopeonfire: Honestly I feel like Marvel Now did a very poor job of getting to newer readers like me. Also it seems a wrong to boast that DC goes overboard with events, when Marvel is literally going from one event to another right now in the comics. Not that I'm trying to disrespect Marvel or it's fanbase.
But Marvel is more stable,Batman is DC's only stable franchise,maybe JL as well after that DC needs fanboy Johns and gimmicks to get people interested.
I started with DC when the New 52 began, quickly realized I preferred reading in digital format. So I mostly read Marvel now with their ''Marvel Unlimited'' feature which for less than 100$ a year, I can read 12 000 comics. But my favorite characters are Batman, Superman and Green Lantern.
I prefer both actually. Recently I find myself leaning towards Marvel because their lineup has so much variety, there's something for everyone and all of their titles have different tones. With DC, they only care about Batman, every one of their books have a dark tone, they don't put out risky and out of the box titles like Marvel does.
This is a tough one to be honest, I like them both the same. I read both the companies comic's and like both the companies characters.
@captainmarvel4ever: I was wondering who bumped this... haha
@eyedcyou: Yeah, I was thinking about how much fun this thread was, and I figured "Why not start it back up?" :)
@captainmarvel4ever: Haha well alright then! I can't believe that the voting is basically 50/50.
@eyedcyou: I know, in my head I always picture it that way, but to actually see it is kinda funny.
@captainmarvel4ever: Indeed... indeed.
Have to go with DC. I think the Marvel universe is cool and all but out of everything in it I only care about Spiderman and Wolverine.
New 52 sucks (for the most part)...
That said, I still have a preference for DC comics. IMO, they are simply more serious and gritty overall and that is what appeals to me. The way their characters are "larger than life," even god-like, is more attractive and important to me than "relatable characters." Of course, that's just me.
:-)
I gotta go with DC.
And I DO LIKE the New52 even though it seems that everyone hates it here
While Marvel Now is kinda boring & annoying as for me
I love it too, and it seems like people are warming up to it.
@captainmarvel4ever: People have to warm up to it, it's been three years, either accept it or get over it. Ps, I like New 52, too.
