Some DC Characters were better after the reboot. I'm talking characterization--not costumes.
For example, Animal Man is more interesting now than ever.

Can you think of any other examples?
Red Hood and Aquaman spring to mind.
Clark probably had the best and worst reboot of all of them. He benefits from an awesome writer in Action Comics but lost his parents, his wife , his son and his dog. Aquaman had a great reboot , any time you get a writer like Geoff Johns workin on you, you are a lucky character.
IMO neither Animal Man nor Aquaman have gotten better (although they are good) since the reboot. Both characters have always been awesome it's just now with the advertisement the New 52 is getting people are actually taking notice rather than just ignoring everything that doesn't have a Bat, Super, or Justice in the title.
I would actually say all of the Outlaws

Being able to start over again and read about a character from the beginning is very enticing. I don't have to learn about Aquamans many hands nor do I have to learn about the exact origins of Buddy at this current moment in time. People are buying these books because they have good writers and they are doing a good job. Very hard to prove a bandwagon effect with people having to PAY to read these books most of the time.
I have seen nothing of New 52 Aquaman that actually makes him very different from his Pre-52 self.
Then again I'm not actually reading Aquaman(financial reasons only, if I had the cash I'd ponce on that book).
Jason Todd, Aquaman, and Roy Harper.

Isn't Starfire a complete whore now?

yeah, and a lot of people don't seem to like the new Babs...so I wanted to name those two just for the fun of it :)
and to see people's responses...
@The Poet: Well I think taking away all of her actual character would count as ruining Starfire.
Don't know anything about current Babs though.
@Decoy Elite: yeah, I was joking when I named those two
I just have heard a lot of people complaining about Babs not being the same strong character she was while in the wheel chair. Personally I don't see much of a problem with her character change, but then that is just me...

Ain't nothing wrong with being a whore. :D

I would like to say to the court and the jury that I myself have not used the term "Whore" or "whoreish". I just named a character to see what would happen :)
I love stirring the pot!
My thoughts (brand new characters are just placed as I either like them or don't like them):
Improved:
Par (for good or ill):
Worse:
Tragically lost:
I feel for love for Swamp thing and Catwoman. I feel that Red Hood could be better as well as Arsenal. Wish Booster Gold was better but I'm sure he'll gain some spotlight again and go up on my favorites chart.
Aquaman all the way.

I would actually agree that Starfire is better (flame shield activate), Barbara has been utterly ruined however
@BlackArmor: Actually it was bound to happen to connect with Batman Beyond it is a shame that two Batgirls afterward would have been forgotten. It would be something if Cassandra to live as a citizen. you know what would be fun if she helped with Alfread in taking care of the place.

So this is the exchange, eh.....Cassandra Cain, Oracle and Steph Brown (I guess, don't really care about her) so we can get Terry Mcginnis?......not worth the trade
@BlackArmor: the trade was not bad. Barbra getting back to Batgirl can work. However their delivery was a lot to be desired. You know maybe she should be Bat Lady. We talk about changing girl to woman in hero names maybe this is a good one to start. Let another person take the role as oracle. That will be a challenge of could take that mantle.
@Hazlenaut: Eh, I have to see who would take the Oracle mantle before really absolving DC of any wrongdoing here, also I would like to see Barbara doing something a little more unique then just being another cape in Gotham
Animal Man & Swamp Thing are definitely back into proper place...especially Swamp thing please, please keep Geoff Johns as far away as possible from dude. Wonder Woman is now readable again, hell, I think anything would've been better than JMS' run.

I could not disagree more. It doesn't help that I absolutely hate Cassandra.
What is funny is that most characters mentioned here, like Aquaman, Animal Man, were not actually rebooted. And by funny, I mean sad because it just goes to show how unnecessary the reboot and five-year BS were. A simple relaunch would have done the trick just as well (arguably even better because DC would not have lost old readers and their pre-Flashpoint HC/TPBs would actually continue to sell).
The only obvious answer to me for this one is Katana.
I think Aquaman and Animal Man have been great, but honestly I liked them just as much before the relaunch.
Although people will disagree, I would say Captain Atom. I never got into the character before Flashpoint and now I seem interested.
