Most commonly recommended DC title seems to be Batman.

Most commonly recommended Marvel title...I see a ton of Hawkeye.

Also, you should read Injustice: Gods Among Us, just because it's great and really cheap.

I love that you're the only one to ask this.

Can't miss DC titles: Aquaman, Batman(Scott Snyder). Marvel Daredevil and Hawkeye. Image titles Saga, Fatale. Vertigo American Vampire. Those are some of my favorite ongoing titles as if now.

@Phaedrusgr: My recommendations would be:

  • Scarlet Spider (Marvel)
  • Harbinger (Valliant)
  • Bloodshot (Valliant)
  • Artifacts (Top Cow)

But ultimately it depends on your taste in comics. My current favorite series is Harbinger.

@Billy Batson: Well, it'd be very difficult for me to limit my likings, cause I do like many types of comic book stories. Yet, I think I want something a little bit strange this time...

Demon Knights.

@Strider92: I took a quick look at Harbinger. It seems intriguing!

#13 Posted by Strider92 (16238 posts) - - Show Bio

@Phaedrusgr: Its the current 2013 run you want as it was around in the 90's but Valliant recently rebooted it and its been great thus far!

@Billy Batson: Never thought of that. Anything particular for a guy that has never tried the "species"?

#19 Posted by akbogert (3214 posts) - - Show Bio

@Phaedrusgr: In that case, a lot of folks would tell you to check out Saga. You should be able to find the first issue for free to try it out as well.

@Billy Batson: Wait, wait! The Metabarons saga is considered an indie comic book? Prophet seems to be a cool book indeed. I'll try it. Thanks a lot, BB!

Yes, it is. If you enjoyed Metabarons and imaginative sci-fi, you should enjoy Prophet as well.

DC: Batman, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, All Star Western. Talon is only on issue four, it's good and you could catch up relatively cheaply.

Marvel: Thor God of Thunder, and Iron Man if you can get over the art.
