Would Scott Snyder's Court of Owls adaptation to film be a good idea?
Why or why not?
I could see a good Court of Owls story but I would honestly rather see a solid Riddler or Red Hood story.

I'd rather have the Black Glove, the Court has no substance to it.

Um there is only one Red Hood story worthy of a movie and it's been done.
Why?
Not to be mean, but there is tons of thing they could do, they should obey the logic to keep the essence of Batman without the need to adapt comic book like if they were the Holy Gospel.
Court of Owls is one of my favorite Batman stories by Snyder - right up there with The Black Mirror - but it's nowhere near as good as some other stories that I'd rather see adapted.
I wouldn't be apposed to a Batman writer like Snyder coming on as a consultant, though.

I thought I was the only one who felt like this.
We should just stick to expanding the DCCU rather than Batwanking more.
Cry harder, maybe it will have some sort of effect, well asides from making your eyes all red and puffy. xD

That's a really good question. As much as I love the story arc, I would say no.
Why? Simple: The Court of Owls is something you would have to set up. Not only that, but it would have to be a 2-part live-action movie because doing a 90 or 2 hour movie based on the story arc would mean that you would have to take out some of the best parts from the arc and would need a huge budget if you want to stay true to the fight scene between Bruce Wayne's long lost brother and Batman.
I'd rather see a Batman movie featuring the Riddler, Black Mask, or Mr. Freeze as the main villain.
HUGO FREAKING STRANGE! He's the most major Bat-villain Nolan didn't cover.
I hope that they make Arkham City into a 3 hour epic at some point.
@regiebravo: Batman vs Atrocitus in a bath towel and armed rubber ducky??

This was my only concern but seeing as how many people are aware of batman's origin, I feel you could expand on the history of his parents death through short flashbacks while he was investigating the court. Just a thought.
It would make for a good second film. Set up the court as a legend in the first film. Though there are some other thing I would rather see.
Why?

It would be nice not to see the same villains come up. I felt like the court had a very good story arch.
very interesting, could you really fit the Court of Owls into only 1 film though? They could easily make a trilogy themselves.

I'd say at least two movies.
It's a fine idea, but I really think either Under the Red Hood or Battle for the Cowl should be the next Batman movies.
Under the Hood, because it allows you to bring in all the supporting cast and at least outline them for future use in another movie, (Dick comes to help, Jason as the bad guy, Tim as Robin, allusions to Talia, and a lost night, and perhaps bring in Barbara to help along with Dick, and maybe make a mention of Cassandra.)
Or we skip right to the part where they're all introduced in Battle for the Cowl as Bruce's adopted sons, making their case for being Batman because Dick and Tim are concerned about Bruce's age and Jason is more concerned about the legacy of Batman. Dick and Tim argue why they should each be Batman, and we highlight their abilities (Tim the detective, Dick the first son, and Jason, the "scary" one.)
I don't think they should adapt any particular story, better to take inspiration from multiple stories. The best thing about Affleck's casting is that his Batman movies doesn't need to be set after BvS so we can see his story as 35 something Batman, I think there should be a proper introduction of Robin in the movies and Affleck can do that. As for villain I'd like to Riddler, Freeze, Black Mask, Deathstroke (or Deadshot), Strange, Poison Ivy, Dr. Hurt, Croc, Clayface, Clock King etc.

That would be too good to be true
