When DC uses Marvel Retreads for their movies....

They tend to bomb. I don't know if it's random coincidence, karma, or a straight up curse, but...

Bryan Singer (X-men, Superman Returns)

Halle Berry (X-men, Catwoman)

Michael Clarke Duncan (Daredevil, Green Lantern)

James Marsden (X-men, Superman Returns)

Ryan Reynolds (X-men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern)

Wes Bentley (Ghost Rider, Jonah Hex)

Parker Posey (Blade Trinity, Superman Returns)

And now Daredevil is Batman. History is not on his side.

Green Lantern, Catwoman, Superman Returns and Jonah Hex didn't fail due to bad luck they failed due to being f**king god awful.

It's a curse. Don't cross the streams.

Ruan Reynold's character in GL was a lot better than his "Deadpool" in XMOW.

That's not the point I'm making. Every single DC movies using notable Marvel retreads has failed.

And Halle Berry won an Oscar, and Singer directed some pretty good X-Men films, and Reynolds was the hottest actor in hollywood when he was cast as Hal. You can spin it any way you like, but it is what it is. The Marvel Retread Curse.

@havenless: I liked SR more than X1, That wasn't a really a catwoman movie any comic book reader can tell you that, and every big budget movie tanks when Reynolds in it, that's a fact. Listen man you can believe in these childish voo doo things but I don't. Affleck is a comic book fan and while I'm not sure if he'll be good or bad on the role, I can assure you that this will not bomb, we're talking about Batman and Superman here, the biggest fictional Icons in the world coming face to face, this will make more than a billion.

Well, on the bright side, if Affleck does end up sucking as Batman...

It's already established that this Superman is a murderer, so hopefully it's a neck-snappingly good time at the theatre!

(On a side note: Santa Claus and Jesus are much bigger fictional icons than Batman and Superman)

Although (and it is a matter of opinion) only Superman Returns and Catwoman weren't better films that the Marvel film the person was from prior....

Superman Returns didn't BOMB; It just sucked.

You know, not like Reeves Superman who murdered a powerless Zod and smiled about it.

If someone told you every horse from a specific breeder has come dead last in 7 races, would you say, "Random coincidence. I'm putting all my money on his next horse."

Faulty analogy. If it is proven that the breeder is doing something to the horses to make them slower, like improper feeding or poor training then it is the breeder's fault, what you're doing is stringing together a weak argument that just because an actor portrayed a Marvel character and then a DC one which turned out bad, that some "Brand switching curse" exists. The horse example can be proven, the Actor example is, as I said, superstitious hogwash backed by coincidence.

hell no. look at it this way. how much of DP did you see? 20 min tops. of GL? more than an hour and a half.

@thetimestreamer: How much screen time you got doesn't really matter. What matters is how well the character was portrayed.

This movie will still make millions. It will probably make even more now that Affleck is in it

Also, I couldn't care less if there's crossover between actors in DC & Marvel movies.
