What's With Marvel and Having One Eye Glow?

I'm sure other people have noticed this and I'm just wondering if this has ever been answered or addressed?

It's not really that prevalent haha. You gave three examples and Shriek is not what I would describe as a popular character. But yeah totally a 90's thing
