okay, the aim is in the topic title so just post the oldest comic you have. You can put the name, year it's from and possibly a picture.

I'll start: I own a copy of the new teen titans no.28 from 1983. the one after that in the list is some crisis on infinite earths isssues from 1985.

I have few from the late 40's and early 50's. Just cartoon funny comics like Baby Huey and the others I can't remember the names of.

This is the only Golden Age book I've ever come across. I bought it specifically to have a book this old in my collection. It's from 1942. I believe it's the sixth ever appearance of Wonder Woman. The book also features stories starring Wildcat & Mr. Terrific, along with some other characters that have not withstood the test of time.

Mine is Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #72, cover date October 1963. In the issue, Jimmy faces off against several of his alter-egos, including Giant Turtle Man, the Human Porcupine, and Fat Boy (?) only to discover that he is the victim of an elaborate prank by Superman and the Legion of Superheroes. A landmark issue in comics history to be sure!

Mine is Secrets of Sinister House #16 from 1974. Those of you who own X-Men Vol. 1 #1 are d*mn lucky.

@primepower53: If this is true you are the luckiest one to post in this thread thus far.

The chances of it being an actual first print are extremely slim.

#26 Posted by primepower53 (5686 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman #201 May of 1968. My most valuable ones are from a few years after..(Some Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams Green Lanterns, and some of that same teams Batmans...and "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" story from Amazing Spider-man.) But for age, this is the oldest.

I stated it's a reprint, but it's old nonetheless.

Why label me a troll for having a reprint of Batman's first appearance.

#37 Posted by KnightRise (4785 posts) - - Show Bio

@primepower53: Ah, failure to properly read on my part, my apologies. The troll quip was a semi-compliment

It would either be Amazing Spider-man 5 or Fantastic Four 7. I would have to look at when they came out to see which was first.

"the faceless creatures stole your face" then they're not exactly faceless now are they... That's just the X-men during a Holloween party where they all dressed like Superman!!!! Look you have Bobby Drake running over to give Superman and hug and Beast just jumped down from the ceiling and the new recruit is giving Supe a punch on the shoulder like "hey guy , you're my hero" ____ How rude of the DC heroes to call mutants creatures!

I own an issue of Special comics 1 published in 1941, good book a little darker than I expected, but I came really close to a first issue of Blue Ribbon comics from 1939 but I have a limited budget for conventions.

the scariest book on earth, about the scariest fictional character.

I realise that trying to buy very old comics now is very difficult since they all cost so much but if you carry on looking you'll find some good deals eventually!
