Peak Human implies you hit the barrier of human potential. Enhanced can mean you go beyond that barrier, so enhanced.

@havenless: not necessarily. If you are more powerfuk than you were before the enhancement you would still be an enhanced human just not superhumanly so. Most of the time you are correct though

"Peak human" means you're in terrific shape, able to perform superhuman feats without sacrificing your human form. "Enhanced" usually means you're a walking weapon/science project with metal implants and stuff. Not fun. The choice is clear. However...

Captain America blurs the line a bit (as he always does). He was enhanced, but the enhancement produced a "peak human" specimen, so I would say he's more peak human.

I put peak human in quotation marks because it's difficult to discern exactly what that is. In Batman's case, it means outperforming olympic athletes that train all day in all their respective disciplines, despite maintaining an unhealthy nightly schedule of crime-fighting, and being, y'know, a human being, which is BS imo, and doesn't reflect the essence of the character. At least with Cap, this sort of thing is excusable because he was given the Super Soldier Serum and conditioned to be a living weapon (again, blurring the line, if it exists, between enhanced and peak human).

Since Captain America is probably the best, most reasonable example of a peak human character, and that state was the result of enhancements, it could be argued that "peak human" is just another form of enhancement, since the peak of human potential appears to be inaccessible without genetic tampering or authors' exaggeration.

@hyperlight:

*Potentially*, I should have specirfied. The point I meant was that peak human has a ceiling and enhanced does not.

I think there are different levels of enhanced so it would really depend. Peak would imply you are the best human you could be, enhanced could really mean anything outside of normal human abilities from telekinesis to being able to cool hot soup faster then a peak human.
