What would Superman be like if he was written to the maximum of his abilities?

His intellect is supposed to be just under Lex's and Batman's but he can think and process magnitudes more quickly than they can. I never understood how these guys outthink him since he should be able to process every outcome of a situation since they can and can't think anywhere close as fast as he can. Combine his insane strength and FTL speed and his strength and power should be near limitless.

Seriously shouldn't this guy be like solving world hunger and create world peace over the weekend and spend his week days solving the mysteries of the universe, instead of constantly being tricked by Lex and forced into solving petty human problems.

There wouldn't be much written about him at all. Outside of bigger than life threats, there would be virtually no conflict. Look how long the first Mr. Majestic series lasted, and he wasn't even written to the full extent of his abilities.

Even more boring than he usually is... jk I like Supes but this would suck.

I think the whole point of Superman is that the only thing limiting him is himself.

@rabumalal: @amendment50: @bee14ish: I agree with all of you, I guess I just wish that if they're not going to make him fully capable they would limit his intelligence somehow. That's the hardest thing for me to look past. I can understand him holding back his own powers but you can't hold back your mind. It's hard for me to buy that he can't instantly see the outcome of every scenario or needs to ask for Batman's help on complicated problems just because he chooses to hold himself back.

He'd go from Superman to Godman.

He wouldn't be able to find many opponents who can remotely challenge him.

same is true for the flash yet both lack experience

superman is not limitless and the sun is a limited energy resource, even if he was written to the whole sun power he would be a speck of dust in the universe tbh.

@houseshm: The feat is an obvious outlier, but only one of them was telling the truth who do you believe. Superman the HONEST and kind Superhero. Or Ultraman the PSYCHOTIC villain who slaughters innocents daily and mostly likely LIES all the time (the reason being because he is the antithesis of Superman), You decide.

Superman prime comes to mind...or even prime 1 million

In a Grant Morrison Superman book, both could be true.

Far more interesting than usual. Using a character to it's fullest established potential is arguably one of the greatest challenges faced by any writer.

Think of it for a moment: a character is shown breaking sound barrier once: every single fight after that, there needs to be something putting him supersonic. And that'll take a lot of effort. Now, superman lifted the earth - imagine using that level in every issue. Everyday challenges like falling planes are just easier to write than colliding planets and exploding stars. It's fascinating to think, though. villains not nerfed, ftl combat, super intelligence, master of all sciences to prep, half the JL becoming entirely useless, and so on.

He would be almost as strong as Black Panther is.

He would be boring as hell...

Characters like Batman won't be necessary any more.
