I don't understand the complaints against the new live action version of the Joker having tattoo's? I mean it doesn't damage the character at all.
What's the problem with Joker being alittle self-aware?
@flashrobin: doesn't DAMAGE the character
...........c what u did there
@flashrobin: doesn't DAMAGE the character

I wasn't trying to do anything other wise I would have put "DAMAGE" in capitals and in Bold. I was really asking a question as to why so many people are making a deal out of it.I mean so what if he's self-aware,as long as he has the personality that's all that should matter.
@flashrobin: I was saying that because the tattoo theyre complaining about is the damaged one
I thought you hated the tattoos?
I thought you hated the tattoos?
I don't hate the tattoos,I'm just questioning all the choices that they've chosen so far like the a weary old Batman in the JL.
or looking like s street thug
Some would say Ledgers Joker was thug,He was even called out on it in the movie several times being a Punk,and a Street Thug. I'd the realistic Nolan version is close to a street thug anyways.
I think he looks awesome. I didn't know the comic book community hated tattoos so much. Tats rock.
I don't see why people have problems with Joker having tattoos, but no problem that he applies make up to himself.
@flashrobin: this dude, i have to say it, looks gay.
in the literal sense
@flashrobin: my problem is less the tattoos and more the quality of the tattoos
I think if they were going to give him tattoos they should be sub par rather than all nicely done
Id probably prefer it to look like he had done them himself.
Give it some time to see how he looks in the trailer and movie.
this. Only bad thing is that it's DC. Which means there is no possibility of Spider-Man, thus no chance of me caring about the movie at all.
@wrglfan2814: That affects the character in no way,shape or form.

@those_eyes: i dont get it, is the joker that pathetically laughable?

Im mainly laughing at your comment. I can tell you are quite the spiderman fan.
Its not in his character and it looks dumb. The joker wouldn't believe that he was damaged, and he definitely wouldn't get a tattoo of it, along with tattoos of the word "HA"
@those_eyes: i am THE spider-man fan. no one surpasses me. No one

Except for me...
I don't like the Damaged tattoo's but that's it. It won't put me off his performance at all, his mannerism seems to be spot on, if his voice and the script is good I won't even care for the tattoo at all. Because it all makes sense for the DCCU. We need to be greatful that were getting a Suicide Squad alone, I'm not complaining.
@flashrobin: not that I don't agree with you but Ben Affleck and comic book Batman are roughly the same age.
@blackspidey2099: you? A bigger spider-man fan? LOL
@blackspidey2099: you? A bigger spider-man fan? LOL
It's mildly amusing how you seem to think your fandom has any chance of surviving my Spider-Fan onslaught.
@blackspidey2099: come at me and my arsenal. Present your case.

LOL

I don't need to since

@those_eyes: so you dressed up as spider-man...
@blackspidey2099: correction, spider-man always wins
You are not spider-man, you are only a servant who is beneath a prophet such as myself.
one day this will be me, the spider-pope. The one teaching the masses of their one and true God.
@those_eyes: so you dressed up as spider-man...
I'm all for this look. I was afraid we were just going to get Ledger 2.0, but now I'm confident that this will be an original and downright great take on the clown prince of crime.
Anybody who has a problem with Joker being self-aware doesn't know the character very well.
As for the tattoos.....I'll reserve judgement on that till the movie comes out.
It's not like the Joker never admitted to being crazy.

The Joker's a creature of passion and change, he doesn't have a stable mindset and his motives might change at a moment's notice. These are the the constants of his character, the foundations from which other interpretations are built from. So tell me, from those foundations, how do you get a character who would sit in a tattoo parlor, or wherever he got them, and have them applied? Probably going back multiple times to have them finished? That'd require constancy, something the Joker fundamentally is not. And why does he even need them? He has neon green hair, bleached skin, and dresses fabulously, for goodness' sakes! Why does he need 'Damaged' tattooed across his forehead to show off he's a crazy son of a b****?! And it's not like he's some small time crook nobody knows, so they need to quickly get across the kind of character he is: He's the Joker. Everyone knows who he is to some degree. So what is the point of the tattoos? They go against his character to begin with, and there doesn't even seem to be a good reason for them.

the more i see it the more its growing on me.
Looks like something that could be in the comics.

The assumption that he went to a tattoo parlor and had some guy write ink on his body as opposed to just writing on himself constantly in a very Zsasz-esque fashion strikes me as a little far fetched.
And while we're talking about Zsasz, that's a good example of how tattoos show how crazy you are. Writing on yourself is like a pretty basic telltale sign of insanity. Besides, it adds flavor to an already flavorful, albeit slightly overused in media, character.
I would give it an actual chance before you go jumping to conclusions.
@jmarshmallow: I write and draw on myself all the time. :(
