Given the amount of throwaway hits taken by the comic book pantheon of characters, I was wondering if there's ever been a moment of violence that has genuinely made you wince or feel for the victim.
What moment of comic-book violence genuinely affected you?
The most unsettling comic violence that I read was Wolverine killing Daken (his son). I wouldn't say it super effected me, but it was more disturbing than the typical comic violence/death.
I was pretty pissed when Bullseye killed Elektra.
I was pretty pissed when Bendis killed off Ult. Spider-man.
I was pretty pissed when Loeb killed the Ult. Marvel U.
The Walking Dead seems to always be able to shake me up. The deaths of Lori, Glenn and Abraham all shook me. When Glenn died in issue #100, I had to put the comic down for a minute. The same was true when Carl was shot in the eye. My jaw literally dropped open when I read that. Of course, Kirkman tweeted "A happy ending for once" the day that issue was released.
