What is your opinion about Doom being the quasi-god of Marvel's current Secret Wars?
My opinion about this is that you should change the damn title cause there are people that have not read the series yet.
I'm really digging it.
It should've been the original beyonder.
Hehe. Would've loved to seen classic Beyonder make an epic comeback.

i like would like to see this too.

I would have liked that especially if there would have been an epic showdown between Doom god and original Beyonder at the first issue of SW where Doom reaches his final ascent by regicide.

I was thinking of the classic Beyonder coming back, all pissed off, and joining the side of the heroes to fight against the trio of Beyonders.
Though it wouldn't necessarily make for a good story because by feats classic Beyonder should mop the floor with the trio.
@mysticmedivh: Yeah Beyonder was all kinds of crazy and making villains or heroes job & lowball like heck isn't the way to make a good story.
I think Doom has too many fanboys at Marvel, and I don't think it's all that great personally. however it's still too early in the arc to really have a definitive opinion on it for me. I'm hoping for a God-Doom vs Thanos fight though.
It's logical.
Dr Doom have been so close to the ultimate power during all those years.
It's basically the reward he deserved from Marvel.

Reading the post from you two... It just dawned to me. What the F- they're going to do with Doom after the secret wars has run it's course? Both Marvel editorial & in character. Honestly, there's no way Doom would go back to being "just" Doom after the event. that would be lame beyond measure.
Personally, I wouldn't be too surprised if his killed at the end.

Or just back to his regular status quo.
Makes more sense than DC making Batman god-like.
Burn ! Heretic !

Doom does have a higher sense of universal direction. He will give up power if it doesn't benefit him. He basically did it in Brother Voodoo years ago about becoming Sorcerer Supreme vs Nightmare

I'm annoyed that there is 4 gods on the vine now :
- Batman
- Flash
- Dr Doom
- Aizen
@lesterlawton: You're so right! What the hell are they thinking? What's the idea of reducing Superman to a second rate Power Man and at the same time turning Batman into a New God? WTF has Bats ever done to deserve this or to even be able to properly harness such power and/or use it responsibly? Might I remind our fellow fans of Bruce's disastrous decision making, such as his overbearing and Orwellian Brother Eye turned genocidal monster?
Seriously, the day someone finally puts a bullet between his eyes will never come too soon.
I'm really digging it.
@realitywarper: Just going back to being your average super villain after having briefly ruled the whole of creation just doesn't seem right narratively IMO.
Giving up your power after achieving what you wanted sort of worked with Thanos, who just wanted to impress his girl anyway, but it doesn't really sound like something Doom would do at least willingly and I really don't see the Beyonders or which ever heroes topple him to leave him alive either.
I just hope they've thought of something appropriately epic for the ending.
