even though i don't like Wolverine i like his claws, its kinda handy to always have a knife around when you need one.

the energy of the light saber is projected through a crystal. the laser (or what ever) then activates by pushing a button or something. anyways i mean it just stops (the projection of it). Even laser pointers go from house to house <.< (weak example i know but the only imaginable)

yeah, basically you're asking what stops the plasma of the blade from extending out forever...

well in theory it wouldn't stop, it would keep going unless you managed to find a way to actually stop plasma using electro magnetics...

i'm not sure if there is an actual explanation for this in the movies, but they look just so damn cool :D

it's alien tech, so you can't really say what they 'have' and 'haven't' mastered...

i mean, they have "Hyperspace" drives, so using electromagnetic fields to alter / stop the flow of plasma shouldn't be that hard lol

or u use it like a plus and minus pole maybe the limit is set from the projector (the saber halt) and will only let it project it so far... but thats just imo
