other than the alien rocketed from a dying planet and the revenge story what character has the most unique origin?
what is the most original origin for a character?
It would have to be Adam, from the bible- he was, after all the very first created character... can't get more original than that.
@mynamewasdeleted: Eve was made out of a rib from Adam which makes her more unique since several creation myths have gods making people similar to how God made Adam where as Eve's creation might be the first time that the creation of a woman was that different from the creation of man.

good point... but for being 'the first' I'm gonna still go with Adam
@mynamewasdeleted: But there are creation myths that predate the first recorded version of the story of Adam, so whether he was actually the first totally depends on your religious views.
Are you saying Adam was the first fictional character in a story and that's why he's the most original? I'm sure there were stories told and written long before that.
Not a lot of characters these days have original origins. Even the most famous fictional characters like Superman have their origin influenced by other characters.
@mynamewasdeleted: LOL if a Christian sees that then you are in for a HELL of a ride :P
@wolverine08: Superman's origin story is basically a sci-fi version of Moses with some heavy influences from the book Gladiator thrown in.

There were plenty of characters created before him.
For me it'd have to be Poseidon/Hades. Zeus's mother tricking their father into eating a big rock to fool him into believing he had eaten his son Zeus, because there was a prophecy about the Titan's son killing him and taking over his rule. Then Zeus kills his titan father Kronos and cuts his belly open and out pops his bro's Poseidon and Hades still alive after being in their poppa's belly for years after he ate's them.
Or how about Athena? Prophecy about Zeus's first wife barring a son that would overthrow him (sound familiar). What does he do you ask? He eats his first wife whilst she is pregnant. Like father like son I guess, any way Zeus has a massive headache nine months later and ask Hephaestus (Greek god of the smith) for help. So Hephaestus cracks Zeus's skull open with an ax (because that's the best way to alleviate a headache?) and out pops Athena fully grown armed and clad in armor yelling war cries like a maniac. Imagine a human birth going like that, it'd be as epically horrifying as it was awesome.
I guess Cap. America's is pretty unique... Maybe even Ironman. I was gonna say Batman but op clearly says other than that so....
Nah, Captain America has essentially the same basic origin as Wolverine and Deadpool
@sinestro_gl: captain America came before the two of them
@vortex13: I wonder how that rock tasted.....:P Though recalling, Zeus didn't kill Kronos just banished him to the underworld.
Well, similar to comics titans never seem really die lol.
@z3ro180: I think it's more of a who has the least used origin story. Not who had it first.
Adam was a created being, and quite the character. I'm saying he was really the first man, created by God.
@mynamewasdeleted: A god from one specific religion though. There are tons or ancient religions that had creation myths concerning how mankind was created that predate the abrahamic religions big time.

My selection stands
@wolverine08: Sure no problem. I didn't get a notice for that. Followed.
@sinestro_gl: Oh yeah... You might be right....
Man was scared and hungry. Man learned to defend and hunt with tools. Man was happy.
Everything after that is just an homage.
@comicace3: captain america is a ripoff of shield.
@allstarsuperman: Who's that...?
Samurai Jack?
I should have thought of him earlier
@comicace3: Look him up he's on comic vine. Archie comics IIRC.
@allstarsuperman: I did and I take back my answer you are right. :) But maybe samurai jack or the story of the monkey king.
