Every kid tries those two the first time they're trying to buy an electric guitar.

Smoke on the Water, easily. That is THE example riff for all guitarists.

Smoke on the Water is the song most people are taught first by instructors when learning guitar.

Probably "Smoke on the Water", it's catchy and easy to remember. As a newer riff, I'd put "Seven Nations Army" up there.
