There have been many deaths in comics of heroes and Villains alike not to mention numerous civilians but which was the best Was it the Death of the Red Skull in Captain America #300? Maybe Gwen Stacy and the Green Goblin in Amazing Spider-man #121-122 or possibly the Death of Superman at the hand of Doomsday there have been many but which out all the deaths we've seen is the Best of the Best?

I don't know whether I love it or Hate it. I liked nightcrawlers death (or at least the idea behind it), but it felt kinda forced, like he had to die for there to be meaning in the story.

My favourite is probably Jason Todds death, but I haven't read the red skulls death.

@Chaos Prime:  It had us all in shock after seeing cap die like that I thought he went out like a punk but looking back on it his death was pretty epic

So what if he came back shortly? The man placed himself before the city and it's citizens. That's the way a hero should die. Superman's death was the most tragic and heroic.
#21 Posted by Foolkiller (167 posts) - - Show Bio

i like cap's. he died like many important figures in u.s. history (i.e. Pres. Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., JFK,  Malcom X). i believe it was the most befitting way he should have died.
and supe's death is 2

I don't know who Red Devil is but you better be talking about Sean McKeever because Ted McKeever is bloody amazing!

Really? I must disagree with you here. I felt his death was stupid meaningless, cliché, could have been avoided and felt way too much Captain American-ish.
But hey, to each his own. :D

Superman's death always seemed the most poignant and important because not only did he die saving the city and its people but the very fact that the man of steel suddenly seemed vulnerable like the rest of us.

Though both were later cheapened by resurrrection . . .
I say Supergirl's death in the original "Crisis on Infinite Earth's" during the mid-80's and when Bullseye killed Elekta using her own Sai.

I think when Hal sacrificed himself to reignite the sun, i think that was a good death.

I gotta say, this scene had me choked.

Art by Phil Jimenez.

His death was reminiscent of the death of Superman, but far more emotional. Superboy definitely earned the S Shield.

Could Bruce's be considered a "death"?

I'm surprised nobody has said Supergirl's death in the first Crisis. Nearly had me in tears just reading it.
