Which Saga is the BEST?
What is the Best Dragon Ball Z Saga? (Out of the main 4)
@darling_luna:android saga
Frieza saga. And things should have ended there where they were meant to.
@life_without_progress: How bout that one Saga where Radditz put on the stone mask and became a vampire ?
Oh..wait
@darling_luna: that's a different, better franchise, hon.
Buu saga.
Also that trunks picture on the "Android Saga" picture has something off about how the sword is being held.
I have to go with the Freeza arc because it just seemed like the perfect ending for the series! I really enjoyed the latest movie, but whenever I hear about gods fighting, I think of Goku vs Freeza!
Cell isn't here? That's considered it's own saga separate from the Androids last I checked. If we're lumped them together then Androids, because Cell Saga was the best one.
If not, of these four, I say Frieza then Android.
Android saga. It was the last time any character other than a saiyan was relevant. It also had the best fights.
I have to go with the android saga with the frieza saga as a close second, buu saga a decent third and sayian saga as fourth.
@darling_luna: that's a different, better franchise, hon.
What franchise you're talking about? Sounds epic as hell......
Android Saga is the best. People other than Goku and Vegeta were allowed to be badass and help out. There were multiple interesting villains instead of just one. There were fewer plot holes. And there were actual permanent consequences instead of the Dragon Balls restoring everyone to life at the end.
The Frieza saga abused the Zenkai to the point of stupidity. I was hurt! Now that I'm healed I'm 500 times stronger than I was before! No further training required! That's just unearned. The Kai version has the same problem, but Frieza is a much better villain. And I find that
The Buu Saga began with ruining the idea of Super Saiyan with the kids doing it for no reason an =d Goky just pulling SSJ3 out of his butt. It left no place for non-Sayians. And it has the worst ending of any of the sagas.
The Saiyan Saga is good, but suffers from being short and the fight scenes aren't as good.
@sunofdarkchild: fewer plot holes?
Android Saga. I think the period of when Frieza arrives on Earth all the way through the Cell Games starting up (wasn't a fan of the Games themselves, save for the end stuff with Gohan) is DBZ at its peak, especially in regards to narrative direction and character development. Plus, the filler actually went in its own direction, told its own stories within the context of the overall events, and became entertaining emulations of the more adventurous light-hearted Dragon Ball tone, rather than just being padding like the previous saga's filler was.
Plus, History of Trunks is the greatest Dragon Ball Z story ever told.
People are saying Buu Saga? Really? Wow. To each his own, I suppose. Buu Saga was by far the worst, in this Viner's opinion. Toriyama had all but admitted that he was mentally exhausted with the manga at that point, and it showed. That saga was all over the place, narrative-wise, and Buu was just a little too wacky for a Big Bad.
For me, it's a tough call between the Saiyan Saga and Frieza Saga for the best in the series. I'd probably edge it to Saiyan Saga because not only did it introduce the best character in the series after Goku (i.e. Vegeta), but the Goku vs Vegeta fight, in my opinion, was never quite topped for pure, visceral intensity.
Frieza saga. And things should have ended there where they were meant to.
Frieza Saga. Cause that's when Toriyama still knew what the flying f*ck he was doing.
I agree with these comments
Its a toss up between the Frieza and Cell/Android saga for me. Might go with Frieza though. Seeing Goku go SSJ for the first time was just an unforgettable moment.
