what is "second series"

Hey guys, im new to comics and these forums and im goibg to be buying action comics 1 (new 52) and from the site im buying it says "second series" what does that mean? Is that like a second print? Thankd in advance.

It might mean that it's the second volume of Action Comics.

@The_Tree: I dont think so because its #1 and has the exact same cover as #1

Ah, mycomicshop. By series they mean volumes. So 2nd series=second volume, 3rd series=third volume and so on.

@Billy Batson: Clearly it is New 52 since it says so in the first post.

@undead7123: The first Action comics series ran from 1938 to 2011. Then DC decided to reboot all their titles with the new 52. You don't need to read the old series as the new 52 is trying to start fresh and from the beginning.
