how does everyone classify a book as being an independent book because a lot of these that people have named I wouldn't call an independent book...I have a hard time saying that Walking Dead is an indie....most of these are published by Wildstorm, Image, Vertigo, and Marvel and those are all major publishers.  to me one of the only indie books named here is TMNT which is still pretty much done in the creator's apartment

Yeah, mine is RASL. Vertigo is most definitely not independent.

I love TMNT. I had no clue Donny had his own series. I have noticed that the TMNT series hasn't been out with a new issue in a while. Did they cancel it?

Haunt is my favorite though, if that series fits the description.

@Mutant X: theyve all had theyre own off and on. Donnie is the one with a current, which started after Mikes
ended ( Michelangello The Third Kind). as far as canceled , its just having a big delay, part
in due to the holidays, and part in due to the Viacom buyout. Peter can still publish the books, but not the TPB's,
so theres a hold up, but hes scheduled through the year, though only solicits until May with Tales from.

Only have read one, but I think it would be hard for any to top Invincible for me (since it's very classically super-hero themed)
