y u no read Copperhead?
I'll pick up #1 Digitally.... Who are the creative team?
@judasnixon: Jay Faerber and Scott Godlewski...not big names, but it's a great book.
@sprior93: I'm surprise you're not reading They're Not Like Us.... It's the X-Men if they were straight up assholes.....
@judasnixon: Yeah, I'm really digging They're Not Like Us. I'm the only one at my shop that pulls this.
@judasnixon: The X-Men are straight up a$$holes. I've been meaning to check it out, but there's so many good Image books; it's getting hard to keep up.
@judasnixon: my favorites...
At the moment I'm reading Shock Rockets.
Image has been consistent as clockwork with the quality of their books.
(No order)
Saga (I relate to this book more than anything on the shelves, ever.)
Deadly Class (Gonzo comics~!~)
East Of West
Trees (Crazy slept on title, Warren Ellis I felt for a long time got too much praise. He's definitely winning me over with this. I wish he never stopped writing Moon Knight.)
Walking Dead (I thought this book was going full on cookie cutter last year. Love where Kirkman's going with it.)
Outcast (Again Kirkman is on fire with this one. This is a classic tale we're seeing unfold. People will look back at this book for a long time in awe. It's cinematic, and better than any Horror movie you could watch nowadays.)
Stray Bullets (I don't like how potheads are portrayed in this book most of the time. But great stories, definitely rivals Walking Dead for best black n white book.)
Rat Queens (I avoided this book for at least a few months after the buzz hit. I caved eventually, so glad I did. My favorite gals in comics.)
Nailbiter (I love the world Williamson is building here. I eat up every detail of this beauty.)
Birthright (Williamson has the potential to be the best in the biz. I'm not saying he isn't mind you. He has a great sense of scope.)
All time favorite though.
FATALE
I hope I meet Brubaker one day so I can thank him for this one. I was sad to see this book end. Looking forward to re-reading it when I get time.
@blackdog2009: Thanks there some books that i didnt even read yet so the list will probably grow.
Invincible for the moment. It's easily one of my favourite ongoings.
I did read the first few issues of Elephantmen but I gave up. Got a bit slow for me.
Lazarus and C.O.W.L. Though C.O.W.L. is ending next issue so I guess I'll be looking at maybe Descender, Velvet or Red One as my replacement Image comics.
*runs in room and whispers* "The Fade Out" *runs back out room"
@jonny_anonymous: That whisper was very compelling, but maybe you can tell me a little more about The Fade Out than that? :P
@lvenger: Do you like old time noir movies like say Sunset Boulevard or Double Indemnity?
@jonny_anonymous: Ah sadly the noir genre is not something I'm an avid reader of in comics or books. For you though, it sounds just right I imagine.
@lvenger: Hm how about Starlight?
@jonny_anonymous: I know that one, Millar's work isn't it? Yeah not a big fan of Millar's independent work, he actually wrote much better stuff under The Big Two's editorial control rather than left to his own devices IMO.
@lvenger: Oh believe me this is the most un-Miller book he's ever written. If you didn't check the credits you wouldn't even know he write it.
@lvenger: Do you like old time noir movies like say Sunset Boulevard or Double Indemnity?
If you have any noir suggestions for me I'd be grateful :)
On a side note, did you love LA Noire as much as I LOVED LA Noire?
@sog7dc: I loooooooved LA Noire and I'm still super sad that Whore of the Orient will never happen.
Are you reading The Fade Out?
@sog7dc: I loooooooved LA Noire and I'm still super sad that Whore of the Orient will never happen.
Are you reading The Fade Out?
What...? I didn't know it was cancelled :'( All my most anticipated games are being cancelled (Star wars 1313, now Whore of the Orient)
No, the only Image book I'm reading is Saga.
@sog7dc: Ah well The Fade Out is a MUST read for noir fans. Also check out Fatale, Criminal, Velvet (that's more espionage but there is much crossover) Murder Me Dead, C.O.W.L, Revival, Satellite Sam, Southern Bastards and Stray Bullets.
@jonny_anonymous: Thanks! What about some good noir films?
@sog7dc: Well the two I mentioned above are my favourite but some others are The Setup, Drunken Angel, Chinatown, LA Confidential, Maltese Falcon, Out of the Past, Kiss Me Deadly and Murder My Sweet.
