We'd finally see a legit Batman vs Captain America battle which would lead to the fanboys of the losing side causing havoc and busting up the main headquarters of Marvel comics... So yeah.. it better not happen....

That only matters, if they would actually merge the universes. If they kept them as seperate universes, I don't think that there would be much change.

If Marvel owned DC then the DC characters may finally get a solid continuity.

Yeah, in the end the stories would likely be written by the same writers anyways, which is why I said until they merge the universes it won't change much.

WB is fine without the DCCU, they are top grossing studio for majority of the last 10 years and haven always been in Top 3. And there not even 1% chance that DCCU will fail, maybe it won't be as successful as MCU but it won't fail. And if it fails they'll just keep on making Batman and Superman movies, the thing is Time Warner makes majority of it's money from it's TV section and they are ahead of every other company by a landside in that department.

They would stop rebooting.

This question is nonsense, but why the hell not. Here's my 2 cents:

The Marvel vs DC crap would probably cease to exist after a few bumpy years of mewling on either side, but I imagine the normal comic fans would go on reading comics like normal people.

The pretentious DC movie fanboys with no sense of humor would go ballistic though and become even more annoying, so I guess there's the real downside.

On the upside though, we could get a Superman film worth watching for the first time in over 30 years, and a Batman film where he doesn't give up his quest because his not-girlfriend got exploded and perhaps does some actual detective work instead of just punching everything he can't run over with a tank. Might actually get a Wonder Woman film, or someone that can at least write a female character for DC (films) that doesn't suck. DC television universe might actually become united and be worth watching.

And maybe Marvel movies and shows would get a little shot of serious and not be quite so quippy all the time, and we wouldn't get movies like Ironman 3 that couldn't decide where it stood tonally. The Marvel books might benefit from the return of some good writers, although I fear I'd end up with a Bendis written Batman, or Green Lantern, or JSA which just makes my stomach turn. Even worse, they might throw him on Hellblazer or a Sandman reboot...oh god why am I doing this to myself?

I believe one of the upsides could be an Eternals and New Gods crossover. Penned by Starlin and Gaiman maybe? Art by Jae Lee...or Opena...oooh, Tocchini! Yeah, that's a nice dream. For me.

In short, could be a good thing I guess.

Disney would ruin two great universes. I wouldn't buy any comic books that Disney owned after the merge. I hope this never happens. They should be owned separately.
