How do you guys think the movie would have differed had Joss directed Man of Steel
What if Joss Whedon had directed MOS
We'd get a better comic book feel but a worse movie :/
Like, the movie wouldn't even attempt to grasp at substance lol
@rpgesus: ...so, you don't know anything about Superman then?
@captainmarvel4ever: loool
@johnfrank120: loooool
@superguy1591: I was kidding around about how joss is kind of a pansy and an SJW but as I posted it I realized that's what superman does anyway lol
If it was Whedon when he still did good stuff, then we'd have gotten a better film with some good characters & jokes that are funny but know when to stop.
If it was current Whedon, then it would have turned out pretty terrible, and insult the names of both Whedon & Superman but still have people praise it for no reason.
And either way Whedon would say idiotic stuff about the film & probably lie about things because he's too stupid to think before he says something.

I'm glad I can relate, I thought I was losing my sense of humor. I remember watching Age of Ultron and everyone laughing hysterically at a couple of scenes that had me sitting there like; "It... It wasn't that funny."
@amazingspiderdan: My experience with AoU was almost the same as yours.
It would be better.
Lol it would have been different that's for sure. Nice avatar by the way. If only he were 20 years younger he'd be a great Hal Jordan.
On topic: I'm not sure. There's a possibility it could have been better but then again the script for AoU wasn't necessarily better than MoS. Also, WB is pretty much giving their directors more creative control, something I know Joss was irritated about during AoU so that would be a benefit for the film. That said MoS is still a fantastic movie but it wasn't necessarily as good as Ironman which launched the MCU. I have a feeling that will be BvS (hopefully).
It would be better.
I hate you

Oh my God, yes. I thought something was wrong me in Marvel movies. I chuckle a few times, but the audience acts like it's hysterical.

OR do we just have better senses of humor? Think about it

Snyder is a talentless hack. Doesn't understand Superman's character.
I HOPE M.NIGHT SHYAMYLAN DIRECTS A CALVIN AND HOBBES MOVIE!
A lot of one liners and bad running gags.
Or no sense of humour. :P
If I'm being honest, I did find this movie funnier than the last Avengers. But it wasn't as funny as Iron Man (one) or GotG (which I think is the funniest Marvel movie). That Language running gag was dumb. I can't imagine any of my friends busting my balls over that for so long.

Well the Marvel movies tend to go from smart to dumb in terms of comedy. Iron man 3 and The Dark World for example demeaned the serious scenes with their constant gags. Guardians of the Galaxy was mostly about comedy, but that worked because it didn't try to be gritty and kept the same tone throughout.
I think these movies work best when they settle on one particular tone and stick to it. So yeah, I can understand that not all of these flicks are hilarious.
It would at least have a tone that is fitting his character. He is Superman. Not Batman. Unlike what WB thinks, dark tone doesn't work with every single character.
@theacidskull: I don't think Marvel movies are as unnecessarily jokey as people make it out to be. Sure there are IM3 and Thor 2 but everyone can just focus on the bad aspects of something. I like the light-hearted tone because it reminds me of the times when superheroes were supposed to be FUN. And a time where people didn't think they need to rip Batman off to be sucsessful. People need to understand that dark tone works with Batman because it fits with his character and even he makes jokes from time to time. The same reason why I also don't have a problem with Daredavil(Netflix)'s tone. It fits him.

@spiderman1997: I wouldn't say man of steel was dark, just a tad more serious than most, which at the end of the day, is still a part of his current mantle.
Not all, but some marvel movies aren't so much as unnecessarily jokey but because they don't focus on a serious moment to the point where there is no substance in the film and it just feels like they are trying to fit as many jokes as they can in....then it does become a problem because it starts to get old and damages a public image of a character(ultron). This is why people discredit the MCU for their portrayal of villains, the villain is fun sometimes, but they lack intimidation

@spiderman1997: thor 2 is worse than spiderman 3
@redatom1234: Now I don't really have a real problem with the villains except Ronan who I could have written a page long swear about but won't because the site doesn't allow swearing. Malekeith was boring and Killian was a plain over the top Disney villain but Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 were just unremarkable movies anyway . Though I will say that I have no problem with Ultron. Why ? Because him being jokey works in the context of him being a Stark going pshyco. He makes jokes because Tony also does. Sure I would have prefered the classic comic book version but since Whedon stated that he would just be pissed-off Stark I was ready for something like this anyway.
The movie would be watchable, and probably pretty good.
