Personally, I don't care. The quality of the actor is more important than the color of the skin.

Meh, I wouldn't care, they always change races from White to Black, mix it up already. There are other minorities besides Blacks.

That's what makes this all so messed up and funny. They chose the popular name but unlike with race change in comics, they actually had a black GL who being black actually plays into his character and history.

I wouldn't care about a black Green Lantern and Hal is my favorite lantern so I guess it would be cool. I would be really confused as to why they didn't use John Stewart though.

My general attitude towards these things is this:

Physically, would I rather see the character portrayed as close to the source material as possible? All things being equal, yes, I would.

So if they change it, it really doesn't bother me all that much, it's not going to turn me off a film. It's just a cherry on the cake, a nice treat, but nothing that really changes the quality of the thing.

There are exceptions of course, T'challa being white would just be stupid.

Bingo. Considering if they wanted a black Green Lantern...they have one. With a pretty solid fanbase too.

Since race, gender and sexuality don't matter if you're a straight, white male, I'd be okay with it.

Plus, John Stewart being black actually played into the character. Much like with Static and Luke Cage.
