In the comics a while ago Bruce and Bane mistook themselves for brothers and Bane even lived in the Bat cave and had witty banter with Alfred. Later on they figured out it wasn't true and moved on. What if they turned out to actually be brothers how would it effect Batman and his mythos

Bane: "Alfred never told you what happened to your brother."

Batman: "He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"

Bane: "No, I am your brother."

Batman: "No, no, that's not true! That's impossible!"

Bane: "Search your feelings, you know it to be true!"

Batman: "Noooooooooo! No!"

Bane: "Bruce, you can destroy the corrupted crime in this city they have foreseen this! It is your destiny! Join me and together we can rule Gotham city as brothers!"

Ok why? I kind understand if The Joker or Talon was actually Bruce Wayne´s Brother or enter on that storyline.

@vitalius: if it was joker that would mess up his connection to Batman and makes less sense then Bane anyway. Talon wasn't even made yet.

Well there'd be a certain amount of race changing going on. Hispanic Bruce Wayne? Or Caucasian Bane?

@backflip: I think Bane is already a hispanic/caucasian mix, which is why they accepted the idea of being brothers.

Pssh, I dunno, what would happen if Killer Croc were actually an alligator turned man, and not the other way around? Who cares? I don't.

Supposedly having Bane be Batman's brother was actually the original plan. There are hints towards this in Knightfall IIRC.

But they never really followed up on it and if they revealed this nowadays it would just be weird. Especially after "Court of Owls" which revealed another more plausible brother of Batman's.

This brought a big smile to my face :D

Bane will probably be an anti hero and he and Batman would have discussions about their ways to fight crime. They will fight each other and then they become villains again.

Mrs Wayne would have a lot of explaining to do

They will have a great bonding moment and become total bros with eachother

Bane and batman...it does have a nice ring to it

@stormshadow_x:

I was talking about like how Bruce become Batman from his death´s parents and Joker would become The Joker from his death´s parents. Like in Flashpoint.

Bane being Batmans brother..

sounds a bit like Juggernaut being Xavier's brother.

When did all of this happen?!?!

#22 Posted by spidex (38 posts) - - Show Bio

Even if they were brothers, I think Bane would still be a super villain. Enraged by his parents' death, he would go berserk and go on a crime spree, while Bruce would be the good child and try to stop him. Still, he wouldn't be too violent with him as he would always have a soft spot for him. This is just what I think.

Because I want everyone else to see that I don't care while I attempt to provide witty commentary.

But seriously, I'm not sure how I would take it. Maybe it would feel incredibly forced and useless.

Like Raditz.

@wolfrazer: seeing as now Bruce might have a brother who he thought dead this conversation is possible if you switch bane with Tomas Wayne junior.

#29 Posted by Blue_Daniels (2 posts) - - Show Bio

@stormshadow_x: I would love to see this in the new 52. It would be an interesting way to redo Knightfall as Bane being the brother, he came to take his place in the Wayne family, only to see how wealthy Bruce was and how he lived lavishly squandering the family fortune, he takes this as a reason to take Bruce out only to find out he is batman

Does anyone know the arc in which this happened?

Finally someone else said it. That would mean either Martha gave the kid away. Or Thomas was like "Btch, do I look like Catlyn Stark? No bastards in this house."
