With Marvel's line of adaptions of classics like the odissey, wizard of Oz, the three muskeeteers, stephen king stories, etc. and Dynamite having the rights and various miniseries of classical characters like El Zorro, Sherlock Holmes and Dracula what other character or story would you love to see come to the world of comics?

Personally though he has already arrived I would love a Zorro ongoing

What about James Bond? (remember he appeared in books first)

Tom Sawyer?

Harry Potter? (how DC hasn't figured that one out is beyond me)

Lord of the rings?

What are your choices?

Wizard of Oz was good.  Lord of the Rings would be cool.  I am excited about the new Halo stuff.

"The Mysterious Island" - by Julio Verne's
The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne

You may know some of his work like “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, “Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea”,” Around the World in Eighty Days”, although his film or cartoon adaptations weren’t very good, the original work was actually very good.

“The Mysterious Island” is a great story; it’s kind of big  but I really loved to read it when I was a kid. It was publish on 1874, yet it’s still awesome. It involves the whole concept of a desert island and people trying to survive away from the civilization, still it so greater than anything you ever seen like “Lost” or “Cast Away”.

(Also for those who read the “Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea” the “The Mysterious Island”  offers  a very good tied-in, but the good thing about it is that you don’t really need to read or even know of the first on to enjoy this one. – They are completely different stories with a small tie in. )

And South Park isn't 'classical'.

Being faithful to the mythology adds limitations but I understand what you mean.
#27 Posted by Nighthunter (28582 posts) - - Show Bio

lol considering how extensive the mythology is and that Hercules is one of the most popular and known mythological character it shouldn't be that hard and could help people to want to know more about the son of Zeus besides going to watch the Disney movie lol (which I admit I loved as a kid, probably would still do if I watched it again)

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series

Just wikipedia it, if you do not know about the series i. But these books are good,  almost up there with Lord of the Rings. I know there was a video-game and a card game, and here is talk of a movie deal or TV series, but personally I hope they do not.

No..I had been done with Disney for years.Disney has made classic movies,Peter Pan,Alladin,Little Mermaid,Bambi,Road to El Dorado,Pocahantas,Lion King,Snow White,Cinderella,Pinnochio,Alice in Wonderland,The Jungle Book,Mulan,Toy Story, and as a kid I was so fascinated by this stuff.I mean I still like those movies.I would watch any of them on any given day..but Disney has some sh#t in there vault that isn't so friendly to people who aren't white if you know what I mean.I have respect for Disney for what they do with art and animation. They are innovators. But a part of me feels bad taking part in anything Disney. They got some behind the scenes crap going on over there.
