EXAMPLE

I think that Wolverine could be on this team easily...

Amanda Waller is reading about Wolverine. She sees that he led a very dark road but became a full-time superhero in order to redeem himself. In result she recruits him as a role model to other members.

However entertaining, Assault on Arkham made me dislike Waller and the idea of Suicide Squad. That you suggested that Wolverine of all people, after everything he's been through, would allow himself to be turned into a mindless puppet, doing the dirty work for some cynical, self-important schleps on the taxpayers' dime is outrageous. He's had enough bad experiences with the Canadian government. Suicide Squad is illegal and immoral. That's why they keep it secret, no matter what they tell you about the greater good and the poor, weak masses (*ahem* their masters) not being able to handle the truth. I'm sick of ambiguity when it comes to self-serving civil servants in comics.

Far stranger characters have joined the Suicide Squad(for example, Vixen)

But I think it's against Logan's character to be a puppet, Dude.

@darthmummy: It's against most members of the Suicide Squad to be puppets, even if they are sometimes paid killers (Deathstroke and Deadshot for example). That's the point of the remote bomb.

Unfortunately Logan has no worry of a bomb, even an internal one haha.

But by that logic, every character is a prime candidate for the squad. The whole thing seems kind of miserable and dehumanizing. Remind me why they're making a movie when they could be doing, idk, Hawkman? Dr. Fate?

@darthmummy: Well the SS is villains/mercs by design since they usually get stopped by heroes and end up in custody, which is where Waller gets to them.

So the idea of a hero, or even anti-hero, ending up on the team can be a bit of a stretch. Hence why the team is always villains or mercs.

So I wouldn't say anyone could end up on it.

In general-

I'd add Catwoman. She'd add a little class, sexy and intrigue to the team.

I'd consider adding Victor Zsasz. A serial killing machine is always fun. Lastly, I'd add Lex Luthor. A genius who can outsmart Waller and manipulate the team to do his bidding would make for fun reading.

@granitesoldier:

The members don't have to have bombs.

Example: If SuperMan joined he wouldn't get a bomb.

@derpster: I've heard of it, but I don't really know much about it since I never read it.

Also the point of the Suicide Squad is that they're forced into these situations that they wouldn't normally go along with. If we negate the bombs aspect I don't see Harley or Deadshot or Slade going along with Waller.

@granitesoldier:

I'm not saying that I'm saying some characters join voluntarily... Such as Wolverine. Besides I don't think a bomb will work on him anyways.

I think the whole 52 Squad fail to understand what made great the Squad, the Skinny Waller Squad its the picture that not because you wish something to be great, its going to be great.

They made Harley Quinn and Deathstroke to join the team, but still the 52 Squad its a joke.

They need to go an read the classi great Squad runs and understand what it made the Squad great.
