1. Batman.... this is widely believed as the best... clearly, Ive even watched two or three documentaries on just batman villains. i have found none on others (after this topic, ill be more vigilant) It can't be argued, but you can have a differeing opinion, you just can't argue it beyond YOUR opinion.
2. Flash....I used to hate the flash, I used to think his were the worst villains, they were hokey.. (giant monkey, specializer in boomerangs, the trickster? even mirror master was hokey to me, geez) but I have greatly changed my tune. I have a greater respect of the flash for one ("plays the fool, to hide a warriors pain" god i lover that line) I therefore gave his villains a better look, and they are awesome... the trickster I love mostly for his JLU role in the cartoon, I want to see him in action now. Grodd is intense, and pretty cool, mirror master is still hokey.... but I like the hokey flash villains now... (i could keep going but ill move on.)
3. Marvel Universe.... what I specifically mean, are the ubiquitous villains, that all of Marvel share and don't really have a primary protagonist attatched anymore, Prime suspect Dr. Doom, has anyone not faced him? I just read Doomwar, and it was AWESOME....others would include Magneto , Galacticus, Skrulls... etc etc. sure most of these were originally nemesis to specific titles, but not anymore.
4. X-men, nostalgic mostly for me, but Sentinels, apocalypse, Juggernaut, Omega Red... they're all there
5. Green Lantern (ONLY from GL rebirth forward, before that, He has my most hated rogues gallery, they are mostly goofy aliens)
6. Superman.... Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid.... all really good, the reason he is so far down on the list is for his awful villains, Toyman, Dr. pxaeryriy (or whatever) and various others,
the bottom of the list....
Fantastic Four.... WHAT... really? most of their best advesaries, aren't theirs anymore, sure they will go toe to toe with doom, but he shows up on diffeerent titles more often these days, so if you exclude the more shared villains, the FF is left with.... Galacticus.... thats it.... he shares the limelight with Moleman, and other groaners.
Spiderman.... ok this is probably just me, BUT I HATE spiderman villains, they are just so, campy... or just don't belong....Mephisto has no right to be a spidey villain, its just spite. the best I can say about spiderman villains, is venom and green goblin..... both are weird and stupid I like them, but not as spidey villains(IMHO) in my eyes, some strange alien stolen from a horror movie (The Thing) does not make for a good villain for a wisecracking klutz of a teenage, it would be a better villain for Stormwatch, Fantastic Four, Superman, the Shi'ar empire. or any other characters that regularly deal with Extra terrestrials I would like them better if that were the case.... Green Goblin... I get it, but he's too.... I don't know, he just never sat with me right as a spidey villain.
On that note, Im picking up Spiderman and Scarlet spider, from the Marvel Now, erm.... now... so I can re look at the Spidey villains, though I will never change my mind on Venom and Mephisto, or others that don't belong as Spidey villains... (they have potential, just not there)
