what can John constantine do exactly?

I've been reading up on him and is he just DC's Doctor Strange?He just seems like he does the samething Dean and Sam do from Supernatural,just stop evill forces and thats it?

@flameboy298: Hellblazer is being completely collected in nice big numbered trades. They're great, start with vol. 1 the Delano run, work your way up to the Ennis stuff.

@flashrobin: I don't know about the power levels of New 52 John, or even later into Hellblazer. But his power is nowhere near Strange's level. John's real ability comes from being able to lie, con and manipulate people. He's not a hero like Dr. Strange or an anti-hero like Sam or Dean. He's a bastard. As far as fighting the forces of evil...ehh, fight is a strong word. His stories can be about magic, or crime, or politics, or just complete weirdness. Your not going to be able to pin a label on John Constantine.

I'd say that's how you label him :P

As said above: His 'power' is that he's a liar, a cheat, and a bastard with few morals and huevo's the size of Mars. Which effectively means that while he's not really up there in terms of might, he frequently hits WAY above his weight class through sheer cunning and manipulation.

@flashrobin: his usefulness comes with his knowledge and if he has prep, then he can do almost anything cuz of the rules of how things work. Dr Fate is more like Dr Strange. He isnt even Zatanna. If you are looking for a Marvel counterpart its very hard. I guess it would be a cross between Ian McNee and Daimon Hellstorm
