Other than the comics you picked up last week.
What book(s) are you reading?
Walkingstone says:
"Anansi Boy. I'm on the edge of my seat for HP in less than a week!!!"
You might be a Gaiman fan if...
HP? as in Lovecraft?

If what? And HP = Harry Potter
Harry Potter, I might have known... I still have managed not to read or see those movies :) Which is impressive when one considered that I worked at a B&N for 5 years.
If... you have excellent tastes in authors.. ;)
I read Neverwhere and never stopped.
I'm currently reading this:
So far it's really good.
Well, I have to read this weirdo book for school called Flowers for Algernon. It's kinda boring but yeah......
My favorite book series, however is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It's about a boy who finds out his dad is Poseidon, and he's now a half-blood. There are all thewse cool adventures that incorporate greek mythology into real life, such as Olympus on the secret 600th floor of the empire state building, the entrance to the under-world in a record studio in L.A., and the training camp for half-bloods on Long Island. Really cool. I recommend them, even if they are kinda short and I read the third one in like 3 days.
I've said it before, many months ago on another thread, but if you like historical fiction or Arthurian legend, then read anything by Jack Whyte.

This was recommended to me a few years ago, I never got around to reading it. :(

Have you read American Gods too? If so, how does Anansi Boys compare to it.

I have that on my "to read" shelf.
Just finished:
And started:
Has anybody here ever actually made it through Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I've tried starting it twice, and just can't get through the first book. I'm all for epic fantasy ala Tolkien, but it just moves waaaaaaaay too slow for me.
Does it get better? Should I give it a third shot?
what happened to pick a path books? i used to love the ninja ones like assassin and usurpa and the dangons and dragons ones, i had heaps

My roommate's reading them now...(or at least has been over the years) although he writes freelance for Dragonlance so that in no way is an endorsement.

I miss those too.
Damn I really need to get to B&N to pick up some more Trek books but I'm thinking about re-reading my Tony Hillerman stuff. I love that guy.
re-reading harry potter the half blood price so i'm ready for harry potter 7 though it going to be sad cause its the last book
I just finshed reading "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "Darth Bane: Path of Destruction." but haven't been able to pick up a book since I bought Red Robin :p
Right now I'm reading Cryptid.
Then after finishing that book. These will be the books I'll be reading next in order.
There's a movie base of this book. The story is about a bear being mutated by pollution and starts killing people.
This one is about a relict population of Titanis birds being discovered in a unexplored area of florida and they have evolved to have near human intelligence which was why no one was ever able to find them until now. And the main characters try their best to protect them now that they have been discovered by man.
Its about Bigfoot killing people after a group of careless campers start a forest fire which kills Bigfoot's tribe including his mate and offspring. So angry at them that he starts killing people as an act of revenge.
