WB Montreal is Expanding Their DC Universe Games

Could we see an open-world Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, or Arrow video game? It's a possibility as WB Montreal is working on a couple of new DC games. Reported by Gamespot, the WB Montreal site says they're recruiting for upcoming projects.

We are currently recruiting! We are a growing studio with two AAA projects in development focused on expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space.

That's all there is to go on, but they've been on quite a roll with their Batman games, so it would make sense to keep the train rolling and try to develop new games with household name characters.

Who could they go after next? It's easy to say that making a Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, or even a Catwoman game would work, since they've all been in the Batman games previously, but it would be pretty easy to expand a bit more and do something with Green Arrow, since he's a street-level brawler, which could also work for Wonder Woman. Making a game with a character with an abundance of super-powers may be a bit tougher, but it's possible. Heck, Constantine is even a character that could possibly fit into this gaming format. Or maybe, they're going another direction entirely. We'll keep you updated as more develops.

Which character would you want to see star in this gaming format?

If they make another Arkham game, without Rocksteady in charge, it'll be a big mistake.....

Make a Superman game, or a Suicude Squad one, whatever, don't touch Batman.

I hope it's a Green ARrow game, and get Stephen Amell on that.... or the dude who voiced him in JL:TAS

A Suicide Squad would be awesome !

Never gonna happen, not till we are super close to Virtual Reality technology. SS would be a cool one, missions with different characters or online team stuff.

A superhero game that would work is Wonder WOman.... I mean, Kratos, nuff said.

Wonder Woman would be easier game to do. Lot of potencial and they can do lot of things.

I wonder how would Suicide Squad would work. Because characthers couldnt be all Amanda Waller´s loyal pets that do everything that she wants. And how the kills would affect gameplay in general like if Amanda Waller kills let say Deadshot because he didnt follow her rules, would that be game over or Squad would continue the mission without Deadshot.

If they do Green Arrow i really hope that doesnt became like Ligther Batman type games.

Green Arrow and Superman are my two picks for street leveler and high tier respectively. I would be on board for Flash or a comic based GL as well.

Y'know, I wonder if Stephen Amell could pull off voicing a JL:TAS style Green Arrow. One would assume if they got him, he'd be doing the whole Batman/Arrow voice, but I'd be interested in hearing him being the light hearted smarta** JL:TAS Green Arrow was.

They need a good developer like Rocksteady. Well all know what Arkham Origins was like without them.

A Green Arrow and/or Flash game is a must. And for goodness sake dont pull an Arkham Knight and keep it only to the current generation of consoles.

Something in the Multiverse, they always do a great job with the alternate costumes.

They already teased a suicide squad game after Arkham Origins.

I'd love an anti-hero like Deathstroke or so. But to be honest, I will probably be on board with whatever it is. As long as its done well.

I'd prefer Deathstroke over all those. Maybe make it a game about him being hired to take out heroes/villains for money. It could be a hell of lot cooler than the Hitman series.

They need an Arrow or Flash game. That would be amazing.

After they wrap up the final chapter of arkham knight cuz we need to know who this new Batman is, Green Arrow, Catwoman and the extended Bat family would be awesome to see. Rocksteady made a progressive series of dark and creative chapters for the Arkhamverse.

Side note. I don't want another tech-based character like Green Arrow with a full blown game. If they want to do something truly dynamic with dlc then they should put him in Arkham Knight. It'd be actually diversifying than playing as more "bat characters that make up for not being as good via a weapon." Hell if like to see cyborg added as dlc but I'd prefer he get his own game. That'd be the best way to boost his status before the movie. After cyborg in the league it'd be Aquaman or Diana.

Outside the league but still on the "robo" area, it'd be either Red Tornado or Metal Men.

Sounds too easy that they just make another Arkham game with a different character, which I fear is what we are going to end up with... and be annoyed we only got that.

As for what they are working on, candidates:

• Nightwing (just reskin an Arkham game, rewrite triva and story and you are pretty much there)
• Superman (I know a lot of people are dying for a Superman game thats actually worth playing)
• Wonder Woman (All us armchair developers are pointing at GoW about how to do this)
• Teams; JLA and TT (Tricky to do seriously I imagine)
• Midnighter... a strange choice perhaps, but think about it, he's a gay Batman who kills people by beating them to death.
• Deathstroke; DC's entry into the generic supersoldier shooter genre.

This. This is sadly the real problem, Arkham Origins was only decent, you needed Rocksteady to make it briliant.

Storywise, yes. In terms of game play, Arkham Knight is the best.

Without Rocksteady, I don`t know where these projects could go or what they would ultimately amount to.

Deathstroke would be awesome but so would Arrow for me personally, especially if they got Stephen Amell to voice it.
