Vote for the next Character of the Month: 10/14

Ollie just seems like a deeper character in general whether its new 52 or not. Ollie was stranded on an island and left to survive for 5 years. Hawkeye was simply a guy with a bow.

@feartheliving: it's completely subjective, that's why I said I think and not it is, and this would be the place to say who you think is better(subjectively) we could have a gif competition, but they both have incredible feats and I would probably be making most the gifs

Green Arrow has had more of an effect within his and our universe from what I've seen, while Clint may be witty, funny and a good shot, Ollie has that, plus being one of the first to really tackle issues of racism, drug use, and sexual diseases. They've both been able to move on past just using a bow and using a sword, but Ollie used both at the same time of his career, upgrading and not just switching, but that isn't very important, what is, is how he became the mayor of his city to help on a level that very few heroes ever do, and in futures end it could be argued that he made a bigger difference in the lives of more people than Batman(as far as we know), by fighting for the rights of citizens from another earth, using his resources to make homeless shelters all over the country and making technology available for people all over the world "franchising non-profit social aid". He was even a big part of Justice League Unlimited, known as their social conscience, plus Ollie has had a great supporting cast, like Roy, Dinah, Shado, Connor, Mia, Artemis(in Young Justice), and now Emiko

What exactly are you trying to prove? I'm not arguing Ollie isn't also a good character, I prefer Clint but I don't hate GA.

@feartheliving: I'm not trying to prove anything, just kinda hoping I get argument of the week, I don't hate Clint either, just stating reasons as to why I prefer Ollie, and I just don't really feel like making gifs atm

I find Fraction's run to be one of the most overrated runs today. I enjoy some of the issues like the Pizza dog one, but a lot of it is a mess, not as clever as they think it is and generally boring. Especially when Kate and Clint split up.

Green Arrow wins for me. Lemire is the sh!t and I love Arrow. (haters can hate all they want, its a good show)

@mrnoital: Well they don't use gifs anyways. Also the most supportive thing I've seen in this thread is for Ollie's chili soo it won't take much.

I didn't even think about Arrow when I voted for Ollie. I just really like Green Arrow. I'd like to see him in more battles, I hardly ever see Ollie in those, but I always see tons of Hawkeye.

@feartheliving: okay I'll make some gifs, it might take some time, but for one of his best moments, look at page 2 where someone posted him humming his own theme music while kicking ass

They're both fantastic characters but I choose GA. And I can't vote.....

Well, Green Arrow is my most hated character of all time so... Hawkeye for sure, better character and Archer.

Hawkeye for 3 reasons

1) Loved him in Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes

2) As far as I know Ollie has only been GA. Clint has been Hawkeye, Ronin, Goliath, and even Captain America(for like a day). This could throw more interesting conditions in the Battle of the Week

3) Hawkeye is the only person to be a member of both the Avengers and the Justice League

Look, I have no strong feelings on the show one way or the other, but a success alone cannot be a reliable measure of its merit, nor can its similarities to the source material.

Also, what is meant by selling out? Have GA's politics been toned down? I must admit, I'm not terribly knowledgeable on Ollie.

Well, Hawkeye is just a clone of Green Arrow, back when Marvel was taking all of DC's ideas. plus, yeah, recent Hawkeye is no fun.

@k4tzm4n: You could use lesser known characters alongside the more well-known characters. Same goes for some other user's request to use characters not from the big two. For example, you could use a Star Wars character in a CotM theme about master swordsman. You could also use the TMNT in a theme about ninjas or anthropomorphic animals, Predator and Xenomorphs in an alien theme, and X-O Man-o-War in a theme about armored characters.

I will say Hawkeye.

Why ? Because I love his look better, but it doesn't bother me if Green Arrow won.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens to GA that happened with me to the X-Men: I end up falling out of love with him (in the comics anyway) because the writing turns to sh!t.
