What comic book movies do you think are underrated?
What comic book movies do you think are underrated?
@spawn92: Yea but I still think Hellboy is slept on by most
Dredd was f&*king awful and Losers was an average film at best.
Road to Perdition and History of Violence were just damn good movies, let alone comic book movies.
I wouldn't say either of the Hellboys are underrated. I didn't really enjoy either of them that much but the source material's not really to my liking either.
Sin City underrated? I'd say it's definitely not underrated as tonnes of my non-comic friends love it. Same goes for Scott Pilgrim.
@john_valentine: Dredd is a great film, what are you talking about?
OMG a history of violence is AMAZING!!!!! Dredd was also EXTREMELY good but underrated& sin city was great losers was really good too i thought
@john_valentine: Dredd is a great film, what are you talking about?
Maybe it's just me, my friend really enjoyed it too. I must confess that I'm not familiar with the source material and went into it expecting it to be entirely different than it was. The film just seemed so low budget and B-move-esque. Just wasn't a fan. Maybe I'll give it a rewatch!
Batman Begins. It is IMO superior to The Dark Knight in every way besides the villain, but people always forget about it because of Heath Ledger's classic Joker performance.

Yea you really should try it again and maybe try a Judge Dredd trade?

Yeah, I'm British and I've never given it a try, I really should!
hellboy 1 & 2 are one of the few movies i would watch on the drop of a dime. so good. they have shown me the greatness that is ron pearlman. and remembered me how hot selma blair is.
The Crow was made in 1994 and was about a man named Eric Draven (played by Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee) who was brought back from the dead to avenge the murder of his girlfriend. Based on the comic by James O'Barr
A History of Violence is a Vertigo crime thriller comic written by John Wagner and was later adapted in to film by David Cronenberg starring Viggo Mortensen
Road to Perdition is another Vertigo crime thriller that was made in to film by Sam Mendes staring Tom Hanks, Jude Law, Daniel Craig and Paul Newman
The Rocketeer is a pulp inspired comic book character created by Dave Stevens and had a film in 1991 directed by Joe Johnston starring Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly and Timothy Dalton
Also you REALLY should watch Dredd
@jonny_anonymous: So glad to hear that someone thinks The Losers are underrated!

I don't think that Road to Perdition is underrated, nor was it ever. It received quite a few Academy Award nomination including one for Paul Newman (John Rooney)
@sinestro_gl: Yea but you ask someone to name there top 10 comic book movies and it won't even get a second thought
@sinestro_gl: Yea but you ask someone to name there top 10 comic book movies and it won't even get a second thought
I think that's mostly because people forget that it's a comic book movie, and they tend to associate superheroes with the genre. Same thing with V for Vendetta.

exactly, more pepole should be reminded that comics are not just superheroes
Tom Jane's Punisher.
Glad somebody else thought of this.
@john_valentine: Dredd is a great film, what are you talking about?
The problem with Dredd, is The Raid.
The crow was nice..
The shadow was good, too.
And watchmen should be a bit more popular, it's a very nice movie..
The league was quite well made, too.
The Avengers
The movie is probably the most hyped and popular comic movie ever and even though it was a good action movie it wasn't groundbreaking nor the best.
I didn't even know Road to Perdition was a comic book first. Great movie.
The Crow is kind of chessy and dated. I wasn't the biggest fan. Haven't read the comic though.
The problem with Dreed was that we saw his face.
No we didn't

Rocketeer deserves much more attention.
but alot of those movies you listed don't really seem underrated, people generally like them!
TMNT 1990.
YES. Basically the best movie that could ever come from the brand, take that as it may be.
I agree that DD is not as bad as it is made to be. Though with all the people complaining about A efforts like MOS and Avengers, I can see it. Give people a cow and do they enjoy the milk? Nope, they complain about the $h!+.

Aaah nit that horrible movie, I was talking about this one
The Rocketeer. Seriously. How much fun is that movie. A jet pack is boring. A jet pack in the 30's is amazing!!! Such a simple concept.
Batman Begins was great the first time you see it. After that the first 45 minutes are painfully boring and serves as a reminder that Bruce never does anything to hone his mind.
COME AT ME BRO
I got your back jack. That was my favorite of the three.
@pokeysteve: @tyrus: Ok action movie however it had very little respect for the source material.
Rocketeer was comic book first??? what? I always thought it was the other way around wtf
Batman Begins. Seriously, the first part of the trilogy is way better than both sequels.
so true, even though Im not a big fan of the trilogy, the first movie is my favorite
I got both of your backs! tied with the first one in my opinion, both were great, Iron Man 3 might actually take the lead after I rewatch both again
@jorgevy: Nice to see that at least someone liked the 3rd IM part as I did. I still concider the first one better, but Iron Man 3 is a movie that is doubtlessly woth your money.
Liam Neeson rocks!!
yeah the first one was really good but I dont know the third seemed like a really good ending to the trilogy and was so fun... they're super tied in my mind
