Transformers

I've never read the transformer comics, or even watch the animated series. I've only seen the Michael bay movies. I don't get why people say they suck, I personally like them. Is there something that the original source such as the comics or something have what the movies don't have? Are the transformers more powerful or something? Is Sam even the main character? What are the movies missing from the original source?

I'm not the biggest transformers fan, but I did watch some of the cartoons as a kid and I will explain why I dislike the movies. Half the movie is about Shia Labuff and his hot girlfriend. These characters have nothing to do with Transformers. NOTHING. I understand that there needs to be human characters, but this was a bad approach imo. Even when Megan Fox left, they just replaced her with another good looking girl just for the heck of it. They serve no purpose. I don't care about them or their love life. This about transformers, not them. I also find myself laughing at the endless explosions; maybe it's just because I know Michael Bay made it, but the countless explosions are laughable.

Otherwise, I did like the movies. I thought the battles were phenomenal and the transformations looked wicked. To make a better Transformers movie, they need to place less emphasis on the humans, and just throw any love life or romance among the humans. Basically don't do the Shia LaBuff + Hot Girl formula again and then make that the focus of half the movie.

shaky cams and explosions everywhere.. that you can't clearly see the fight.. and obviously the movie is infested by product placements that it looks like a 2 hour car commercial.. and basically a military porn.
