Tragic Heroes

Just name some of your favorite tragic heroes with pasts or just characters you may not like but believe they have very tragic pasts.

Daredevil.. poor guy, they kill his loved ones or drive them mad. Only misery in his life...

guy never catches a break
'bout to live a happy life with mj, kids, the whole shebang
then mephisto screws everything up
i wish he just let aunt may die
she must be 130 by now

• Batman (though I believe most of his tragedy is self inflicted)

What i always say when I'm asked this question:

Black Bolt.  

Celsius she got used by her tool of a husband and spend her whole life trying to find him and ends up dead after she finds him anyway 
and he doesn't really give a sheiß

Its probably a shorter list to name non-tragic heroes.

Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

John Constantine. Pretty much everyone he's ever cared about is dead and many of their deaths were his fault.

Batman obviously, Spawn is pretty tragic too. Doctor Strange weird enough if you've read "Strange:Beginnings and Endings". The price you pay to become the sorcerer supreme according to that story, wow...

John Constantine is up there.
 
Deadpool's origin story is cruelly tragic.

Daredevil definitly and Hank Pym could be he comes back to find a skrull had been impersonating him and his wife Janet is dead
