But enough of that. LIST TIEM. This list was recommend by @spidey_jackson and it should be a fun one. This week, we're going to nominate and count down the top 10 best comic book events of all time. Everyone loves an event. They change everything. FOREVER. ALWAYS. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Let's get to it.

Guidelines

- Make a list of 5 (or 10) comic book events. Ordered from Best to.. least best. The first event on your list will be treated as your top pick, and will receive the most points.

- An event can be basically anything that you're thinking. Anything that was large scale, and notable. Could be a crossover event, team-up, a DC crisis, etc.

Not 100% sure what qualifies as an 'event"..is that just any old story-arc? For example is Batman: Year One an "event?" Anyhow based on what i view as an event..(with first listed being number one..but I'm going to number them 1-5 not in reverse order.)

1. Crisis on Infinite Earths.

2. The Great Darkness Saga. I don't think a lot of folks know that Darkseid was pretty much a forgotten foe until this arc came along.

3. The Death of Gwen Stacy. Such lasting impact for only a 2 issue story.

4. The Elektra Saga. (Miller's DD.)

5. The Dark Phoenix Saga.

As you may note, my events are all from the 80's, except for Gwen Stacy, which is from the 70's. I think this is because back then, events were kinda rare, so their impact felt more serious. FWIW: It's obvious from this list I've been into comics awhile now, and I liked Identity Crisis, it didn't make my top 5, but it might make a top-ten list. I lot of these events have death, war, mayhem and murder...yet IC is bad because it had a rape? Really? That's where we draw the line on what's acceptable to appear in a comic? I wonder if folks remember Watchmen also had rape in the storyline. FWIW: That'd be in my top 5 if I thought Watchmen qualified as an "event."
