Tom Hardy interested in playing Punisher

In an interview with Collider Tom Hardy expressed interest in playing the Punisher. I'd be all for it. He's a great actor an I believe he could do the role justice. This might never happen but how do you feel about Hardy as the Punisher?

The idea itself has potential and I think great things could be done if given the chance.

Nope. Punisher is (in my head) a giant. Tom Hardy is not that tall, and he's kinda got a tiny head.

EDIT: Yeah, Hardy is only 5" 9", I'm sorry but the Punisher shouldn't be the same height as me.

I could def see him as Castle. But isn't he signed to WB's? I doubt this would actually happen.

@allstarsuperman: He actually did mention the fact that he was too short. With that said they could use the same camera tricks Arnold Schwarzenegger films & Tom Cruise films use to make them look taller.

That'd be awesome, but I have a feeling that Punisher would first appear on DD, and I think Hardy is above television.

Apparently he wanted to be punisher. And he certainly looks the part. I've only ever seen him in Spider-Man though.

OH YEAH. Just give him risers in his boots, if his height is trouble. I don't think Marvel wants another Punisher movie though.

I think taking over is a strong term. The premium channels are growing exponentially HBO/AMC/Showtime, but even Netflix isn't quite on that quality. I could be wrong, but I just don't see him in that role.

What??? Umm. No. Anyway Channing Taylor is supposed to be Shazaam on the last rumors I checked. Honestly it makes sense, because he has that goofy, but handsome white boy look.

Really? I think Joe would be perfect! But last rumors I checked said they are actively considering 6 actors... Joe M, Daniel Cudmore, Alan Ritchson, Owain Yeoman, Armie Hammer, and... Liam Hemsworth (gasp!).

Joe M is best playing serious characters, not goofballs like Shazaam.

@eyedcyou Hardy is currently in the BBC show Peaky Blinders, so he's definitely not averse to doing a television series.
