As you may see from my colleagues above, you can pretty much do anything you want, except curse words, those you should censor them like f#$k or something. There is no ideal, simply use common sense and I wouldn't advise you to mimick anyone either, as they too could have a bad time in life and suddenly go batsh17.
IMO, try to express your thoughts clearly with your text. You don't have to be an English major, but keep it readable**. That, and try to be as logical as possible. Personally, when someone's flying off the handle it's easy to avoid them -- but it's the people who are calm but "just don't seem to get it" that really frustrate me. Sadly there's some regulars that fit this description.
**disclaimer: I understand English isn't everyone's first language - but I feel the burden of bringing that up is on the speaker (I really appreciate it when someone says something along the lines of "sorry for any confusion, English isn't my first language". Then I'm as nice as can be). Otherwise I assume you're the typical person on the internet -- super opinionated but not that intelligent.
