Thor is a woman

Never was a fan of Thor, Making the next Thor a female will definitely get me reading.

Won't truly know how I feel about it until I read the first issue now won't I?

We don't know enough details. As far as I know, it's not a gender swap, but a different character who will gain control of Mjolnir.

Marvel teased the new title and gender, it is an official new character.

Is this for real or is happening in another universe outside of 616?

The Mighty Thor is known as a male I don't understand why they are "passing down the mantle of Thor" to a female. I would be as upset if I they made a female character similar to Thor but don't bring someone especially a female and say this is the new Thor

@ironknight1: While Thor is Thor's name, it can also be a title. That was confirmed when Beta Ray Bill's original name was Beta Ray Thor.

The only reason I'm ok with this, is because I want to see Thor be badass with his ax and destroyer arm.

They are not changing Thor's gender. Its a just another character who becomes worthy of the hammer.

There is that too. Same reason I'm okay with new Cap it's a way to see Steve take a different role while still having a character like Falcon shine being the new Cap.

Thor is his name and even if you're going to pass Mjolnir down to someone else making that person a female is a bad idea. I'm not hating on feminist or female power but if they want a female character similar to Thor then MAKE A NEW ONE. Making a female Thor is not going to bring girl power, the only thing it's going to do is rip off a already know male character (which is only cheating the females out of their own original female character) that's why I don't support or agree with this decision.
