This Week's Essential Comics: 7/7/14

Star Wars #19 - so sad this series is coming to an end soon.

Batman Eternal #14 - the best weekly series DC has put out so far.

Detective Comics #33 - the art in this is absolutely gorgeous.

Futures End #10 - losing interest a bit but some parts are intriguing, hope it picks up.

Amazing X-Men #9 - like this book but disappointed McGuiness doesn't draw every issue.

Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #3 - being a huge Master of Kung Fu fan I eagerly hopped onboard this, so far interesting but not exactly what I expected, so far I'm sticking with it.

My wallet literally cried after seeing what's out this week.

Thor & Loki: The Tenth Realm. But Spider-Man 2099 is worth a look especially with PAD at the helm. But Grayson- man, every time I see new images for that book the more it looks like DC's version of the Winter Soldier. Ugh.

Picked up Armor hunters 1 last week because it was a slow week and I loved it. Now I can't find xo 26 anywhere. Definitely going to keep reading this

Grayson. I'll buy it only to find out how DC keeps destroying its legacy lately.

DC has more books that should have been mentioned in my opinion.

I'm still nervous about Grayson #1 if only because I completely disagree that that character needed a complete reinvention. He just needed a little nudge in the right direction IMO.

That being said, I still have to check it out.

I'd like Spider2099 if the story took place in 2099. Ok, maybe the 2099-verse did last, but why not just have every few months a 2099 comic coming out. Not everything can sustain a monthly on-going series for years, some with multiple related titles , but Marvel/DC need to realize that & just make a series for a few month, year or so & then end it. Not consider the character a failure & kill them off, only to reboot them a year later as a female or minority character.
