This Week's Essential Comics: 12/19/12

There's a ridiculous amount of comics coming out this week. Seriously, take a look at this ginormous list. Do you hear that? That was the sound of all our of wallets crying out in pain at once. This is going to be a pricey week for our hobby, but It makes sense since Marvel is only releasing two issues next week (AVENGING SPIDER-MAN & AMAZING SPIDER-MAN).  

Odds are you're in a situation similar to mine. There's a lot of comics you want to buy, but only so many you can actually afford. Well, we've got your back. Every Monday we'll let you know what the must read comics are and since this is such a huge week, we've selected 6. Are you picking these up or do you have other titles set in your sights?

lol I looked at this and thought, "I hope they put X-O Manowar on this list! It totally deserves it!" Before I scrolled down, I remembered, "Wait, Uncanny X-Force comes out this week. Final issue. Much more popular than Manowar. It'll definitely be on here before Manowar gets a spot." I guess thumbs up for Valiant getting on the list? Still, X-Force should be there instead of Avengers (final vs second issue, not because of quality).

Expensive week for me! I'm glad I got the first issue of the Avengers but I'm pretty sure I'm going to wait for the trades from here on out.

WHAAAAAAAAAAATT??? How is Uncanny X-Force not here? well I'm getting Hawkeye, UXF, THUNDERBOLTS, and DareDevil.

Gambit is also out this week... but Marvel is not doing a good job pushing his series... they only care about Avengers...

I got 20 damn titles to pick up Wednesday. $70 easy.Is what it is-dammit.

Third week is always the big one for me.

dang, kinda a big list for me this week.

I cannot wait! Scarlet Spider and DD this week...because I am poor and can't buy Hawkeye, Venom, UCSM, or Indestructible Hulk....

A Saga week is a good week! Love it...

Plus Azzarello's Wonder Woman makes it perfect. It must be Christmas!

I have a pretty big pull this week 11 in total. At least next week there is nothing to pick up for me next week after a big one like this.

Wow, these really are some BEST comics! There is only one of these issues I won't be picking up (X-O Manowar). Usually I only have about two picks in common with this article.

Man this sucks Uncanny X-Force is ending. I love Rick Remender's run on X-Force. Its a shame to see it end. I'll pick that up, Avengers, X-Men, The Death of The Family Tie-Ins, Rise of the Third Army, H'el on Earth & Wonder Woman. There are more but the more I list, the sadder it is. So many good comics to read & so little time & money. *sigh*

I dont remember anything really important happening in nightwing this week (other than being a dotf tie-in) so thats probably the reason its not up there

I was quite impressed with Avengers #1 .... am gonna get #2. Opena's art is awesome. Of course that won't last as soon as they bring onboard a different artist sooner or later. Unless Opena doesn't sleep ? so he can keep up with the double shipping.

If you want to get Avengers Arena, that's your prerogative, but for those of you who care about these characters please speak with your money on this. It may not be much, it may not do anything, but it's worth the try to defend these characters we've grown to love from being needlessly killed off (even if it might be a simulation) to ride the coattails of The Hunger Games recent success.
