@bigtewell: It was funny, even if you're serious, which also makes it witty.

I don't have to agree to appreciate either! ;)

@spideyivydaredevilfan26: @sirmethos: People are blaming Batman for not killing Joker? lol. Isn't that the high courts and governments job? If he kills Joker the cops will go after him and his relationship with Police force will end. In fact he came very close in killing Joker but somebody always stopped him, and what about Superman or most of DC heroes? Joker kills maybe 10-100 guys, how many innocent people does Luthor, Brainiac, Sinestro and others kill? Lex is arguably the most dangerous man alive and Superman still hasn't killed him. Good reasoning guys.

You can find reasonable explanations for half of 'questionable acts'

Batman: Having a security plan against Superman being possessed is common sense when your world is home to Hector Hammond slash Doctor Psycho slash dozens of telepathic, sensory manipulating villains

Iron Man: Pro and Anti teams each had their faults. While I am anti reg myself, I could see what Iron Man saw....and he is just not a good person in general so it is a totally different animal than if Peter Parker did everything he did

Flash: Evil has to be intentional. Even if you hate the New 52, it was not Barry's Plan. The person to 'blame' for it would be Pandora.

Cyclops: Killing Professor X was done while possessed by a maddening super entity and pushed to the breaking point. Not Guilt by Reason of Insanity defense after all. Plus, I heard that X was a jerk in recent years.

Now, if I had to choose a hero whose behavior is horrible beyond imagination, it would be T'Challa and how he broke up with Storm. There is divorce, there is cruel divorce, and then there is what he did.

I actually LIKED the guy before AVX

Agreed with the bold parts. I haven't read CW so I don't know much about that.

For me its Beast for making 5 innocent kids go through a horrible nightmare just to make someone guilty.

@rustyroy: Who said anything about killing?

Killing the Joker would be idiotic, especially considering that he has perfectly valid reasons not to kill him. That, in no way, invalidates my point though.

Just because you don't have the imagination to think of a way to permanently stop the Joker(and various other serial mass-murderers), doesn't mean that no one else does either.

And considering that Batman is, supposedly, one of the most intelligent humans on the planet, it's not unreasonable that he should be able to think of something, that it took me about 10 minutes to think up.

@sirmethos: I get your point but Joker is always two steps ahead of Batman, he had tried many things to contain him but he always finds a way to free himself, and the officials should be blamed more than Batman, couldn't they just order a death sentence for him and anyways that's far from a worse thing a hero has done, no popular supervillain will be permanently stopped, that's how it is in comics.

@rustyroy: He does things like bring him back to life when he just as easily could have left

#113 Posted by RustyRoy (12809 posts) - - Show Bio

@kgb725: You talking about the Nightwing thing, right? I think that was WIS because he came very close to kill Joker many times but someone always stopped him but again what can you expect from a Nightwing book obviously Batman will be made to look like a jerk in Dick's book.

So, why was Pro-Registration so evil? The public doesn't have the right to know who holds god-like power and, without authority, attack whoever they deem criminals?

Agreed.

I was Pro-Registration when I read Civil War.

Well, first off the public (in marvel at least) sorta knows, I mean in Marvel who actually has a secret Identity that's an actual threat ?She Hulk, Powerman, Human Torch,Storm, THOR, etc etc all these character public identities are public knowledge(or at least very easy to find) heck Powerman doesn't even have a hero name anymore, people call him Luke. The people that do have secret identities are mostly street level and have very few if any powers at all.

2nd The Pro Registration side...kinda,overdid it. Beating people in front of their children, sending friends into the negative zone, being kinda hypocritical, cloning a God who's known to level a planet or two...they just over did it.

if it was real life, I would have been pro. look at that shooting at that elementary school. that was some sad shit. now a whole school exploding because these guys. no thanks, put your name out and get proper training. but since its a comic and I felt iron man was being a douche, plus cap is my favorite character, I was anti.

I'm gonna have to go with most anything John Constantine has decided is necessary. If there's a "hero" who's not afraid to sacrifice the good guys, it's Constantine.

Or, I don't know if it's from any particular comic book story arc, but there's an animated episode of the Justice League where an alternate universe Superman just goes around lobotomizing anyone who stands in his way. Imo this is a tad bit more evil than just outright killing them.
