I would recommend you read World War Hulks and Second Coming, quality comics in my opinion, the following Hulk story arc looks interesting too.

So I'm new to comics, have gotten most of the graphic novels that Sara recommended
I want to get introduced to Deadpool, Daredevil, and just Marvel in general
Also I don't know a lot about Green Lantern and Green Arrow, would like that too
What comic arcs are pretty good that are recent?
Thanks :)

I was wondering where to start with moon knight.  I'd be fine going an arc or so back, but I'd like to start somewhere semi-current.

@N7_Normandy:
Somewhat of a retcon from hero standards to bloody and gritty (and clinically insane, swear words and not for minors) starts from the beginning of....
 Moon Knight vol 6 (2006) (30 issues)
....and introduces a couple of new characters that appear in current comics (i.e. shadowland)
Then you could continue to the Vengeance of the Moon Knight (currently 10 issues)

@glak: X-Men Origins Deadpool along with the Deadpool Classics are really good. The current Green Lantern series is REALLY good, and that's coming from someone who knows next to nothing about his.

Hmm now this is a hard one, I would recommend if you have the money and the time to start from Annihilation if not I would suggest you start with the Thanos Imperative.

Where is a good place to start in the current main series Thor? I don't mind buying a back couple of issues if I have to but nothing more than 10 issues back if possible.

And that will provide a good jumping off point? Is there anything else I should before that, I am not very familiar with his character? I know a little bit about Norse mythology but I am not sure how much that ties into his comics.

There are so many Batman titles in that list...

Say I was familiar with Batman, having seen all the movies, and wanted to get into his comics, is there any one book that would make for a good jump-in?

I think Gambit's a tricky one as he's been good, then bad, then good again, then bad again...He's had several solo runs, so I'd say those would be a good place to start

So I am planning on jumping in on Amazing Spider-Man when Big Time starts but as I've been out of 616 Spidey titles for quite a bit I was wondering if I should go back and read from Brand New Day? Is it worth me doing that, so I get all that stuff and the Gauntlet storylines?

Try Hush, pretty much every member of the batman family and a good part of his rogues show up. It was the first batman title I read myself and a lot of people did. It's a good story showing the detective skills, his fighting skills. And it also shows his human side.

@Danial79: Check your book stores around you if you can't find it at your comic stores, they just released volumes 1 and 2 together in one collection. So you get the whole story for 25 dollars. And I think you'll love the story, and it's a good place to get your feet wet so to speak with the whole Batman mythos.

@Gambit1024: Best place, a death in the family, red hood the lost days(just finished)then under the hood arc and teen titans 29, nightwing brothers in blood, battle for the cowl, and batman and robin issues 3-6 I beleive.

Avoid his countdown appearances, it was an over all awful series that's best forgotten. And if you meant current stuff he's not been in anything since batman and robin, except lsot days which is set in the past.

@nandizzle: Batman year one, and the long halloween if you just want a taste and don't plan on reading. If you want to jump int the main series, start with R.I.P then  thenbattle for the cowl and catch up on grayson's tenure as batman.

@nightwing91:  Thanks, the thing is there isn't a comic shop where I live so I was looking at subscribing to a title in the near future.  I'm just not sure which one is considered better, Batman Inc, Batman and Robin, Batman.  Which one is considered the main title, or the most well written?

@nandizzle: The main titles are actually batman and robin, detective comics, and batman:dark knight and batman inc will all be the main titles, with batman inc and dark knigh starting this month I believe, there focusing on Wayne, while batman and robin, batman, and detective comics will be focusing on grayson on the batman of gotham city sicne wayne will be worldwide. It depends on which one you prefer.

Thanks a bunch for making this thread. I've been looking for something like this for a looooooooong time. I've never really read comic books, but this should be able to get me started.
