Hey everybody,been a while since I've been here <__<.

But,anyways I was wondering if the "Walking Dead" comics were worth getting.

I've seen a few episodes from the TV Series.

Thought it was awesome.

Watched up till Episode 3 in total from Pewdiepie and Cry's "Lets play"s of the video game.

It made me cry when it came down to difficult choices ;___;

But I haven't read the comics as yet so I was wondering what YOU'RE opinion of the comics was, should I get them?

Or are they not worth spending money on?

The TV series is great.

Though the TV series is different to the comics.

So yeah the comics might well be worth reading too.

The comics are by far the best of all the Walking Dead media (show, games and comics). I highly recommend the comics if you enjoyed the show.

Lets just say the Walking Dead comic is one of the best things I have ever read. Some of the violence in the comic made me cringe its sooo good pick it up.

I used to really like the comic. I bought the first 9 tpb's, then I realized it really went nowhere. It just followed the same formula over and over. Group of survivors find safe haven, disaster strikes, survivors get killed, survivors leave safe haven in search of new safe haven, survivors meet up with group of new survivors, survivors find new safe haven, disaster strikes.... and repeat. Very disappointing! I've since realised that Kirkman is somewhat overrated. Haven't read Invincible yet, so I won't judge (I've heard mixed reviews), but I loathed Battlepope. I'll say this, check out the first couple of Walking Dead trades. They are good! I just got very tired of the series.

But you fail to notice that in a zombie apocalypse just about NOWHERE is safe.

Unless it's repetitive and happens in EACH issue of the comic then I probably wouldn't enjoy it.

The excellence of the comic is the character development and the musings upon philosophical thoughts such as human evil and the nature of what makes a society.

I despise the show because it made zombies mainstream. I miss the old days when zombie enthusiasts were more concerned about quality like the George Romero films.

QUALITY??? next to a George Romero film which ALL of the newer movies have been nothing but mediocre, The Walking Dead book and show are the BEST forms of zombie related fiction

O I'm with you on that one. I look at the first three Romero films as the original Star Wars trilogy. Classics. Clearly the walking dead is doing something right given the popularity. There used to be a time when zombies weren't mainstream and were a horror niche. I kind of miss that.

Thank God!!! I was really hoping that you weren't going to try and defend Survival of the Dead or Land of the Dead....I've never really seen popularity as a problem....it puts things in the view of other writers and creators so yes we'll probably get a lot more crap stories or movies but if we dig through that crap we're likely to find some really great stories that might not have been written without the popularity increase from The Walking Dead

Walking Dead is one of the few comics where nothing can happen in an issue, but I still think it's brilliant.

Love the comics. Only saw an episode or two of the tv show.... I'd say it's worth reading, but maybe just start off with 1 or 2 trades. Not sure if watching the TV show will spoil the comic... there are some similarities.

One of best aspects of the Walking Dead is the evolution and devolution of the people. How they be great in a crisis and how they can just make the wrong decision. How this environment & the interaction with it just changes a person. I think the comic can break that out more...

YES! YES YES!!! Walking Dead one of the best series ever. You have to read it. I read through all of the chapters in about 2 months. They are so sad, brutal and crazy :(
